Are these god damn awful recycled SkyBusters the only diecast ones on market? I'm not talking about fragile display models from Revell or Airfix.

I would. Any suggestions? The problem is that Top Gun has some specific liveries. Mav's jet has blue and black accents you can't see in any other generic F18 diecast.

I have Darkstar and Maverick jet obviously. Darkstar has no wheels so you can do in flight pose. The rest is same recycled Sky Busters and Enemy Jet is something straight from Hero City era. F18 appears 4 times but only Mav's one is correct. I mean what's the point of Rooster or Hangman having red and yellow outline when this was not even in the movie?

Funny enough those show up in the DLC for Ace Combat 7, too. You get the skin for Mav's Hornet but also red and yellow variants that are listed as Rooster and Hangman's Hornets. Then again, it also calls the "rogue nation" F-14 and Su-57 skins "Phoenix."

Are they even still in stores anymore? Last I saw of them they were on clearance. At this point the best you can get is that transformer based off maverick's jet.

I don't think there's much call for figures of the humans. It's the jets that are the main appeal for Top Gun.

Cruise does not allow his likeness to be used in merch. There are some rare exceptions, and mostly exploiting legal rights or bootlegs. Notable examples are cancelled Funko figure and limited release Mission Impossible Ethan Hunt. The rest is either unlicensed or not legit.

Get Maverick and Darkstar maybe. Darkstar is a special mold made specifically for the movie unlike the rest which are basically recolored Skybusters.

"Enemy Strike Jet" is supposed to represent the "Fifth-Gen Fighters" (i.e. PAK-FA/Su-57) but you're right, that's not what it is at all. F-35s are in the movie, but only briefly during the carrier launch sequence in the intro.

F35 is visible in the background during opening aircarrier sequence but it's blink-and-you-miss. 5th gen enemy jets are in the movie but livery is darker than toy suggests.
