Only someone who never actually looked at them side by side would say something so stupid. The Throne Spawn is an entirely 100% new sculpt, and it's a downgrade in nearly every conceivable way. There is considerably less sculpted texture and detail on his "skin," all over his body. The chains around his waist are mushy as hell and just sorta melt into blobs, unlike the super tight barbed wire sculpt on the MK11. Throne's gauntlets are not painted properly, you can see in the sculpt that the red should continue. The white stripes on his chest are really ugly in shape, they're actually bowing OUTWARDS. Compare that to the tight, angular V on the MK11. Throne has a huge fuckin diaper that rides up his hips for some reason, even though MK11 did it just fine. MK11 also has several really nice washes that pull out detail even more, and a full, nicely sculpted cape with plenty of well-done texture, unlike Throne's idiotic partial scrap of a cape.
This figure got taken to the fuckin cleaners. There isn't a single thing I see that it does better than the MK11. What's funny too is that one of the complaints I saw with the MK11 was that it had this suggestion of a mouth, and people thought that wasn't very classic looking. And lo and behold, Todd has done the exact same thing, albeit a little more subtly, to Throne Spawn, instead of the classic smooth-faced Superhero look everyone wanted. Just amazing.
