Do we know how tall the Super7 Lord Zedd Throne is? The solicits say the packaging is 6.9in tall so I'd imagine the throne itself being a little shorter than that. I'm looking to 3D print a throne for my LC Lord Zedd and the tallest I can make it to fit in my printer is 5.9in or so tall. Do you guys think that'd be big enough to scale with LC? Since Super7 stuff is a 7in scale, I'd think that my 3D Print should be about the right height for LC.

What do you guys think?

They seem to be working to complete existing teams in the waves (although they did just start Wild Force), so I don’t think more time force is out of the question, it’s just super weird that we got Red and nothing else for years. Mystic Force also isn’t impossible, one of the brand managers really likes them so there’s at least someone internally who would vouch for the team getting made.

The next series is going to be 100% OC and a celebration of the show's 30th Anniversary. Original suits/Zords created by Hasbro and there was talk of Hasbro/Netflix opening up their pocketbooks to bring back the original Rangers in major roles and upping the episode lengths to around 45-60 minutes each.

Supposedly it will be a test run for Hasbro to see if they can do a Power Rangers show without Toei/Super Sentai and they will be banking HARD on nostalgia to prop up the show.

Oh goody. Relying even more heavily on nostalgia surely can’t be a mistake.
Honestly I hope it’s a success for them so the brand stays alive but goddamn am I tired of new ideas taking a backseat to references and returning characters. It’s creatively bankrupt to just keep relying on hardcore fans instead of doing new and interesting stuff.

Part of the issue is that Toei has stopped trying with Super Sentai and basically gone full tilt insane with recent Super Sentai shows to the point that it almost seems like they are actively fucking with Hasbro/Saban, as if the Japs want to just end Super Sentai already and can't, because the US market/licensing money they make selling shows to be made into Power Rangers, makes it impossible for them to just say "it's over...." and cancel it.

Lunar Wolf Ranger is an ancient warrior got got cursed by a haunted mask that turned him into a demon and the Wild Force Rangers freed him and he joined their team as their sixth Ranger.

Wes, Eric (not Dan), and Jen are Timeforce Red, Quantom (sixth ranger though his costume is a slightly darker red), and Pink Rangers and the only good characters from that season's team.

Jen is a bad-ass future cop and love interest to Wes, that season's Red Ranger. Wes is a young college age rich kid who wants to do something meaningful with his life and becomes the Timeforce Red Ranger as Jen's team's Timeforce Red Ranger is Wes's ancestor.

Eric is Wes's poor childhood friend who hates the rich and is part of a private military security force Wes's dad forms to try and get Wes to come back and become a good soulless corporate executive. He hates the rich and powerful because he's a poor fag but through various shennanigans, he becomes a Power Ranger and joins up with Wes to fight the bag guys.

The curse of Power Rangers is that 99% of the teams are literal who flat characters with one or two defining traits that are passed off as character. Usually the Red Ranger and Sixth Ranger are the only ones who get actual fleshing out and character development.

It's one of the reasons why SPD is so popular as it was one of the few shows where the bulk of the cast was fleshed out/treated like actual characters.

It's popular because of the queerbaiting involving Bridge and Sky and the fact that in spite of the way it handled the Jack/Sky rivalry, they don't shy away of pushing the ACAB message with A-Squad being evil and the aliens on Earth basically outright stating SPD is xenophobic and evil and that B-Squad/Krueger are contributing to this xenophobic system even though they are supposedly "the good ones" in the corrupt system.

Only one in that image I'll give a pass is Top Gun since that only got made because Tom Cruise finally heared a good pitch for a sequel while he was working on another film.

I’m fine with that too, mostly because Tom Cruise makes movies for fun and love of the industry. The rest of this garbage is literally just cash grabs gone wild. Ghostbusters in particular was appalling, with bringing back a dead actor. I was already disgusted by Star Wars using dead Carrie Fisher and “Mark Hamill dialogue put into text-to-speech, but with a young guy’s face”.

Like the Green MMPR Ranger, you are kind of fucked and have to buy multiples versions to assemble the best Black MMPR Ranger.

The Dragon Armor Black Ranger was the first to get released, and he comes with the best unmasked Zach head (based on his season one look). Regular normal Black Ranger had his season two head with dreads which is blah looking.

Also, Metallic Black Ranger has an exclusive weapon: the Battle Axe in blaster mode which is not available with the Zach figures.

Luckily though, the Metallic Black Ranger has the same Adam head as Zeo Green. So you don't have to worry about hunting down an extra Zeo Green.

That was always going to happen. But if it takes an MMPR box set or two to keep the line going, so be it.
I obviously don’t enjoy having to double dip and get the newest version of something. But the previous figures aren’t great. I’d absolutely buy them again with the new helmet sculpts they’ve used for the metallic figures, and better paint apps, and better articulation.
I’d be concerned about the old versions becoming worthless if I hadn’t dealt with that in Marvel Legends for years. Without fail, you can sell for at least 80% of the inflated aftermarket, even after a new one gets announced. So we can probably get new MMPR figures and clear a profit at the same time.

Honestly I dunno how worth it the minor articulation improvements are. They're nice sure but not enough really to get me to double dip. The helmets are another story though. I'm actually planning in getting that Gamestop color swap two pack and swapping out the Red and Yellow helmets with the shit ones I currently have and returning the set. Fuck Hasbro. Red and Blue are really the most egrigiously wrong imo so swapping red out is half my battle.

I agree. Double jointed elbows on the females are decent but I’d also be buying MMPR Yellow and Pink for a third time, fourth technically thanks to the metallics. I assume that’s the case for a lot of people since they wanted Scorpina or Zeo Pink. I mostly want them for corrected helmets but the Zeo Pink 2-pack had a correct Pink helmet, and Yellow’s is already fine, and covered by Yellow Jason.
The helmets we need are Red, Blue, and Green. Not looking forward to having to buy new ones just to get those, and drop down hips and pinless joints don’t really move the needle for me.

This figure is actually what got me into Power Rangers, I always had an awareness of it because I grew up in the 90s, but for whatever reason just never really got into it. Saw this on the shelf and thought "that helmet kinda reminds me of Robocop" so I picked it up and ended up borrowing Mirai Sentai Timeranger off a buddy who is a huge Power Ranger/Sentai fan. Now the only two teams I was determined to collect were MMPR (because nostalgia) and Timeranger, so I really hope we get the rest of the team.

Tengas are season three villains as they replaced the Putties.

The only Zeo villains we've gotten so far are the Cogs. There is a two-pack with the silver/red Cogs and a single card Silver release which also comes packaged with Rocky/Zeo Blue's weapons which were skipped when he first came out for some insane reason.

It was MMPR2010 to Megaforce they downsized to 4" figures. Plastic costs were rising and everyone was trying to offset this with smaller figures at the time. Even Marvel was almost exclusively 4" during that period with few 6" offerings (which were generally relegated to retailer exclusives). With Super Megaforce the basic line was rebranded as "Action Heroes" and the size was increased to 5" due to poor testing/reception of the 4" product with kids. The pre-2010 run were in the 5.5" range, so the Action Heroes were still a bit smaller than those.

Is there a series you would recommend that has better writing that stands out? I try to watch the newer show, whatever it is that's currently on tv, and I feel the writing is too plastic and disney sitcom-y. But I remember the earlier series (early 2000's) actually being watchable with smart writing.

Not him but there's no black outline on the (poorly painted) triangles and a triangle of black paint would have been nice on the morpher. The blaster looks better than previous DT figures but it's still missing the silver stripe down the middle and the barrels are the wrong colour. Head looks close enough. Wish the eyes were wider though.
Can't decide whether the worse part is the lack of black outlines or the cheap looking yellow plastic but those two are the only major issues.

Is Time Force really well written when it's just ripping off Timeranger the majority of the time? The finale really did not do it for me either. The ultimate resolution was Ransik giving up after he had curbstomped the Rangers because he gave his daughter a minor owie.

It’s a bit sudden, but in keeping with the rest of the series since TF is so adamant about not killing their monsters. It gets fleshed out a lot more in the Wild Force crossover which, along with Forever Red, is basically the only part of that season that doesn’t suck shit.

See this is what has been holding me back from buying any of the LC monsters.

How are the monsters aside from Goldar, King Sphinx, and Pumpkin Rapper? I got those 3 at release and was burned. I feel like by the time S7 releases the first wave LC monsters will have left the magical cheaper than retail zone and have crept into impossible to find. I mean for fuck sakes S7 I like not being bombarded by wave after wave, but I would like at least 1 wave every 6 months.

I have pudgy pig and eye guy. They are both excellent. Really like how the eye beam effect piece can go on the floating eye or the main monsters eye.
Pudgy Pigs only issue is being top heavy, but it will stand ok once you balance it, still good posability.
Pirantishead should get to me next week.

I have S7 figures. I like them but I would hesitate to buy the PR line because in this case LC is actually better. More articulation, cheaper, sculpts are comparable. Only thing I could maybe see buying from S7 PR is Rita since I think the 2 pack is gonna be it for her in LC and I missed it.

I can't imagine that the Lightning Collection would completely abandon all non-MMPR seasons. There are way too many big fan favorite characters that would definitely sell well for that to make any sense - Quantum Ranger, Titanium Ranger, Kat Ranger, Blue Senturion, Dino Thunder Black, Green Samurai Ranger (Ninja Storm), Steel, Koragg, Zen-Aku, Dai Shi, Darkonda, Mesogog, Sledge, Poisandra, etc.

LOTWD isn't The Order. LOTWD tried their initial kickstarter in July 2019 and didn't meet their 500k goal. They relaunched in March 2020 with a 100k goal and ended up surpassing 500k. The movie has very clearly been in production and will be released next year. Three years from getting the green light to being released is very reasonable in the movie world, especially for something of an independent nature.
