small company making made-to-order products in relatively small runs. some are definitely worth it due to the unique sculpts and accessories, some definitely seem to come up short. i only one one and feel like the value is there, but don't think its justified on others.

um, that is the real head in the middle. what they did is adapted the torso side pieces from the original toy, and updated them so they resemble the stretched out head-chest from the show (which, like so many head-chests, deforms in a way no actual toy could, even if it was rubber)

Because it's physically impossible to replicate the way teh animation transformed the head. The Robot mode was already trying for full accuracy in robot mode, so they might as well go all the way.

I just wish they'd figured out somewhere else to put the robot head. putting it in the first segment of the tail meant so little real estate left for the rotate blade, and by extension, the sword.. that dinky lil sword isnt doing shit for me. and they made it purple just because some shots on the show gave it kind of a pink tint in deference to the original toy..

I only have these guys because they were boxed in with the Legends Takara Prime figure I wanted, but this is still pretty slick. Minicons should be a thing in every toyline.

Why does SS Brawn have two pegs for his legs to connect to the front wheels in alt mode? This is incredibly annoying to fit in. Give my ONE good reason not to shave the vertical pegs off.

The tabs are on the bottom of the cockpit. His legs have a slot on top of that little nub AND a peg on the side that goes into the front wheel. This makes it so you have to jimmy it in both sideways and upwards at the same time. Seems entirely pointless to have 2 points of connection so close to each other on such a solid figure.

okay, so you're suggesting the inner skull remain where it is, teeth and all, and just essentially the cheeks, sides of the snout, and eye-area flip up.. I had a similar idea once.
there's a problem with that you haven't considered, and that goes beyond materials tolerances, the need for a thin shell on the head with tiny thin hinges.... see unless something has a completely flat edge where you're folding it, you're gonna have gaps.

well that's just it, his quick drawing actually did have a decent profile for the head, NOT a completely straight line. That's actually quite a nice dino head. so yeah, that's why it wouldn't work
now there could be an internal hinge, sure. like two posts inside the head, probably visible in the roof of the mouth but excusable. but they would only get you so far. and even if they rotated, to try to close the gap up, it is just not a great solution.

in fact, the only real way you could improve the situation is to have the raptor head split in half entirely, and have a new skin flap piece fold out and fill the gap between the two halves.

if you mean put the two head-halves together so that, from the front, it would look like two dinobots headbutting each other? then that's going to have the same problem. only it'd be just one big gap. Transformers Generations Thrilling 30s Orion Pax

It's neat that they made a toy of this young man.
I like that he's some sort of space pick-up truck, like Kup is.
Something pleasing to me about how narrow the profile is.

Lot of paint work going on here. I say that because even if he's missing tail lights, Orion's fenders and side panels are solid blue plastic painted red.
The fenders might have needed one more coat.

Feels like if this toy had one my pass through the design team he could have had cool weapon storage options rather than just plugging them on to the sides.
This is one mold I wish I had more versions of. All the repaints are cool.

Transformation is pretty different from a standard Optimus Prime.

This scrawny Prime has a good look going on, even if his head is sunk just a millimeter too deep into his shoulders.
Thw wheel on the back are pretty sloppy too but even future Optimus has trouble getting that right.

The fact this prequel sort of toy has the little yellow triangle on his arms pleases me. Flipping the arms over and seeing them during transformation made me smile.
I can live without the mouth guard, even if it is a little uncanny.
The fact he comes with an axe when most Optimuses don't is kinda funny.

Orion Pax has an excellent suite of articulation.
Talking ball jointed hips and neck, though the socket for the neck is clear plastic.
Two way shoulders with a bendy elbow and swivels at the biceps and wrists.
Waist and thighs swivel.
Knee bends and ankles are ball jointed.

The little Ion Blaster Orion lugs around is cute. I like those grey panels on his arms too, there isn't even anything Optimusy about them.
Finally the comic episode he came packed with was enjoyable. Having toys packed with spotlight episodes was fun for that bit.

It's cool, dunno why it's always on sale since it's not bad at all. The Megatron and nemesis spoiler packs are also pretty damn cool too if you run across them. If I had an extra $30 burning my pocket I'd buy the spoiler again and either go in armored or car carrier mode.

There isn't a single mold that can be turned into Windblade and retain the spirit of the character and original design among everything that turns into a flying object and turning Windblade into a car is just beyond cursed.

But hey, it would be sweet as fuck to have a Maximal Windblade that's a retool of Airazor that transforms into a mix of a tengu and a phoenix that has a much longer tail that can serve as partsformer weapon storage that can transform from being a fan-like tail that also adds up to the Tengu reference into a longer blade

Currently they are airing Animated (2 episodes), Robots in Disguise 2015 (4 episodes), and Cyberverse (4 episodes) on weekdays, Armada (8 episodes) on weekend. For some reason they started with Episode 3/5/5 on the Monday they launched. Beast G1, Machines, Prime also appear in the commertials, so presumably they will cycle to other shows after they run through current ones.

I had the same problem on one foot on my Wheeljack. It just fixed itself after a few tries.
I'm not sure what happened. I assumed it was either excess plastic that chipped off or some inner peg hole just loosened up better.

Cybershark is huge in shark mode! The only thing I would have changed on him is how in robot mode is how you can't really position his "wings", but seeing the transformation style that might be impossible. Versus a skeleton riding a lizard cycle.

I've been watching a bunch of the TF movies recently and when I got to Bumblebee I broke my Studio Series 38 to mess with while I watched the movie and I forgot just how damn good a toy that thing is. Both modes look great, transformation is good enough imo, and it's got pretty good articulation. Was the MPM as good? I never paid attention.

all the painted weapons I've had/seen from hasbro or third parties always leave the paint off of the handle, for that exact reason. it's mildly annoying since it usually makes the gun not look quite as good, but there's no choice.

I'm quite fond of the mold myself, and the ankle articulation is certainly among the best of any figure I have, but I got him a few years back for about 40 bucks and probably wouldn't go much higher than that. If you look at recently sold listings on ebay, you'll see they still go for that much when you get a reasonable seller. The only reason the $70+ listings are selling is because some retards have more money than sense.
