Liu Kang looks pretty good. In a way it sucks for people who waited for him for so long only for him to be pretty pricey for a dragon you may or may not even want, but again if you waited that much in the first place you wouldn't giving extra anyway

I ordered one despite not buying any MK figures previously, I like Liu Kang well enough and I think he'd make for a good generic martial artist, plus the dragon is cool but I wonder how much you can pose it or of it'll always be in that S shape, you should at least be able to lunge it forward

It looks good, but I think it's a mistake locking one of your franchise's main characters under a big expensive dragon paywall. It's cool, but not everyone is gonna want it, in fact, the more I think about it the more niche it seems.

It's probably because they thought the dragon wouldn't sell on it's own or rather not sell as well.
Though this also does fall in like with how they've been handling MK figures, making sure to include fatality parts and the dragon is by far Liu Kang's most iconic (it even made it into the movie).
They'll probably make a bloody Liu Kang for a con exclusive if I had to guess.

Yeah, I think the only MK2 scorpion is the MK11 DLC one.
For Scorpion there's the MK1, MK11 classic MK2, MK3 and now the 1/6 scale version of the MK11/MK2. I think both his MKX and MK11 designs were teased as well.

they're hit or miss. mcfarlane johnny is in scale with kung lao and scorpion, but the bigger characters like kotal aren't. here's sc kung lao and mcf liu kang as an example. liu kang's slightly taller, when they're supposed to be more of an even height iirc

I was mostly asking since I own MK Spawn and just ordered Liu Kang, if Spawn is taller than Liu (even if by a bit) that'll be good for me.
Plus this means that Classic Doomguy should be taller than Liu too so I'll have fun having them fight.
Also that Reptar Wagon you got there reminds me of one I had as a kid.

i agree. the way his tunic rides up like that was a really dumb idea, and the way they implemented the sash didn't make sense to me. i get that they were going for the mk2 look like all the other ones, but i really think they should've used his mk3 look. it would've looked so much better without the tunic.

I bought him anyway because when are we ever going to get another super poseable MK2 Kung Lao, but damn, he's pretty rough. I thought I got bad QCed because my hat is all wobbly and warped, but it looks like it hit everyone. It's still fun to pose, and the mere sight of the design makes my brain happy, but damn, it's kind of a mess of a figure.

i agree. while kung lao is my favorite character, they really botched his figure. from the warped hats to the dumb way they implemented his tunic to even his screaming face, which looks a bit odd, it's like they didn't really try with kung lao.
it's still the best we're gonna get of him though, so i'm not gonna complain too much.

He's not flashy like a fuckin yellow ninja or horse man, but he has a solid moveset that makes you feel cool using him. I loved the impact from his flying kick ever since MK1, feels so meaty.

Thank you man, I usually don’t measure time, but 3 to 5 minutes in hot water will do the trick, I used my hands to get it in shape while it naturally cooled down.

Quite the opposite,the peg is stuck in there and I’ve been trying to pull it out with needle nose pliers. It just seems too short to fit back in the neck hole. That sleeve of rubber “flesh” on the neck keeps the head from fitting on.

I know other people have had this problem, so it may not have an easy solution.

To remove the peg from the head, put the head in boiling water for a bit and try with the pliers. After that you might have to sand the ball a bit so that it won't be as hard to pull next time.
To insert the peg in the neck piece, try heating the hole and pushing the peg at normal temperature. If it won't stay in place try the superglue/pledge thing.
Then it might be easier to place the head.
If the flesh piece interferes too much cut a bit of it with an x-acto knife.

Just guessing. I don't own the figure.

I suppose I'll have to heat the head as hot as I dare and get finer needle-nose pliers to extract it but I'll probably need a replacement somewhere.

Looks just as bad to me bub, only one is much more dramatically lit, which can make things look better than they are. Storm seems to fuck up headsculpts pretty often. If not for the fangs to distract the eye, these would pretty much be as bad as Kung Lao's teeth.

Will there ever be a Baraka figure I like? Todd's MK11 sculpt is well detailed, but I hate the design. Storm did the MKII design, which is my favorite, but I really felt like the sculpt was pretty weak. Way too beefy, I didn't feel like the headsculpts captured his likeness very well, and his arm-spikes are inaccurate--they should sort of lay down flat against his arm and be poking out of these fleshy "tubes," not sticking out of his arm at random angles like thorns.

This fanmade model is pretty close to ideal for me, it nails down a lot of those issues. It's a shame that Storm fucked this up, because it'll probably be decades before we get another high-quality MK2 Baraka figure.

can't post pics atm, but MK3 Kano, MK3 Noob and Mai colored prototypes along with MK9 Shao Kahn, MK3 Sheeva, MK3 Kabal and MK3 Nightwolf grey prototypes spotted at SDCC getting setup.
There were also some other colored and grey protos of characters I didn't recognize.

These are the 1/6 scale figures while the MK3 one shown laying down is the new 1/12th figure.
Honestly not a fan of that mold either due to the limited legs but it's better than trying to hunt down the MK2.

I might be interested if they are a 2-pack with a cheap price per figure, like the skeletons. Generally speaking I don't see myself paying Storm Collectibles prices for random mooks designed with small sprites in mind.

Price is high. These figures usually go 90-100$ and they'll probably increase at some point since the rest of the industry is increasing prices as well
Articulation's usually really good, even on big or fat guy figures
Not sure about QC, never heard about much problems and I haven't had any either so it should be good or it's just that nobody talks about them much

SC has always released very good products; at the beginning there were many faults with the joints but in my opinion, his QC has improved a lot; the materials are much better than the Mcfarlane figures for example, as well as the posability. The majority of complaints you will find is about the accuracy of the sculpture with respect to the original character, that is, if you like the figure I recommend it 100%.

I think their weakest points are the artistic quality of the sculpt and the joint integration, which are ofter not up to par to what you'd expect in a figure of their price. If you like what you see go ahead, cause the construction is high quality and the poseability very good.

Ehh, she's not as ripped as she should be, but they at least gave her body some realistic volume, unlike many of the anorexic female figures on the market. Like her shoulders are pretty wide for a female buck, it's a good look for her and makes her look more muscular.

I meant as in the knees tend to look a bit beany (just a bit, not PAK-tier or anything terrible), the butterfly joints often look like a foreign ring inserted in between the shoulder and torso... things like that, mostly the artistic side of the enginnering which could be better for a line of this price, just like the sculpts in general. The figures are very, very poseable.

Taki in particular wears kneepads, so that solves the look of the knee; I'm not sure how her shoulder articulation will be because of the armor vest, I see no butterfly, but Storm likes to use soft pieces so it might be there and be usable; her waist articularion may look weird if rotated too much if Tyris Flare is an indication; but all in all she seems fine. I'm sure she will be ably to do pretty much any ninja stuff you want and if you like what she looks like when you see her in a few poses go ahead and buy her.

It's Strive Sol, not the worst thing in the world but it's a worse design than XX Sol, and his face looks weird. It's not the surly, aggressive face I associate with the character, it looks like a bland pretty boy protag from a 2004 JRPG. Even the yelling face just isn't pissed enough, it's more "I will fight to protect my friends!" than "I'M GONNA FUCK YOU UP"

Basically, it just doesn't feel like Sol to me. It's like a particularly good cosplay if anything.
