The Spider emblem being in the corner just kills Ben for me in all honesty. It's a shame because I love just about everything else with the figure. Spidey, I already have the first release and never thought the colors were as dull as everyone whined about so I'm good there. Pretty neat that they're re-releasing him though.

I have two Spidey KO's I grabbed for customs and they are pretty good actually, although it does depend on who you buy it from. There is a shit version out there for sale so I had to read the reviews for the ones on Ali Express to make sure to get the right one. The joints are pretty tight and creaky but after a hot bath and a few drops of shock oil, they moved great. Paint is a bit sloppy here and there but is mostly serviceable and can be cleaned up. The Peter head is nightmare fuel but I wasn't planning on using it anyway. Even swapping the hands around is easy although a few of the holes I had to widen out just a tad. For $10 I really couldn't complain though. My friend bought the Venom and he said he had zero problems with it

Not trying to defend Hasbro's antics, but this isn't the first time a companies "promo pic" on the box has been vastly different from the figure you see in hand. See every McFarlane toy ever made as an example. The difference being we can see the actual figure in front of us. The point being, companies will stop at nothing to deceive people into receiving a better product than they actually are. All they have to do is put a little stamp that says "final product my vary from promotional image" and they can promote it however they desire.

Sunfire body, gpslot hoodie, head cast from ebay, gauntlets from the Walmart Black Widow, belt from X-Force Deathlok, ankle parts are random fodder, I wanna say Walgreens Emma Frost. I have pouches to glue to them, but I can't find my glue.

There's probably a better belt to use, but this is one I had laying around. Might add the silver parts to the belt that came with Sunfire since it looks close.

He's still got a ways to go.

Nah bbts is essentially adding on the 30 bucks and often more of shipping onto the figures price anyway. You could get both figures for probably around 150 or so shipped from Japan while bbts has you paying 200 without taxes or shipping. I put in an order for these 2 and the figma doom slayer and the total came out to 220 with shipping so for the same price as just the 2 spideys from bbts I got 3 figures.

It's fine for a $20 figure imo. Yeah the Mafex is obviously better but I don't need to treat the ML as gingerly so I have both. Mafex for display and the Retro for play. I'm still getting the new Renew your vows 2 pack for pinless and toe joints. Really, at that point the articulation scheme isn't too different from the Mafex.

lol no. Spidey is my all time favorite character. I have a graded Amazing #1 signed by Stan Lee. I think Spidey is the only character I'll be willing to pay whatever price for. Kinda kicking myself for shipping Mafex Ben, but I'm more of a fan of his Scarlet Spider look than I am of him as Spiderman. I want the Mafex Scarlet but the tiny spider is really putting me off of getting it and I'm not willing to pay for a third party hoodie for a $75 figure. I do dig the heads on him though so I may bite the bullet.

I do though it's too tempting not to at least look at other figures for Spider-Man. I was considering the mafex for a massive amount of time though I juist cannot get past the head looking as weird as it does or the part where the neck meets the skull. That throws off the entire look of the figure for me too much to be able to just buy it anyway.
the diaper waist throws off the look for me too much as well. it's a shame because aside from it, it's really solid for a composite spider-man, aside from the parker head but still.

Like I said, it's monetary value isn't as important as my sentimentality of the whole experience of buying the book, going to the convention where Stan appeared, getting to actually meet the man, while also getting to watch him check out a Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers in the slut suit) cosplayer's ass while I waited in line, it was great. One of the coolest comic related experiences I've ever personally had. A close second was bumping into Jim Lee on the convention floor a year or two previously and getting to listen to him make fun of Rob Liefeld's inability to draw feet and then having him tell me to check out Sal Buschema art.

I'm not the one in charge of Marvel Legends anon. The team seems to want to crank out as many different characters as they can to seemingly build out the entire Marvel Universe in action figure form. It's pretty cool and I admit that I'm personally a fan of some these deeper cuts finally getting made. On the other hand with new molds, you end up like Todd's DC line where we've gotten nothing but Batman and Batman related characters. I can't believe we don't even have a complete JLA yet with that line let alone something even slightly more obscure like the Teen Titans or Doom Patrol.

Nope. The BaF was rereleased a few years ago with that new head. I wanna say it was TRU exclusive as TRU was dying but it made it's way to other sites too. Also came with a potted plant Groot and baby Groot.

After that, around GotG2, they rereleased the BAF as a single figure with a new smiling head. This was also widely available, as it was a TRU exclusive for a while but then they reissued it a year or two later on Pulse, where it sat for months and months.
Now it’s being rereleased again in this box set. I’d argue that Drax is the real prize here, since he’s the one that shot up in price the most after GOTG2, and his last figure with accurate paint and the blue pants only had the screaming head, which this figure has replaced with the calm head from GotG1.
Considering every figure in here was widely available at some point or another for $20 (most of them discounted at some point too), I can see why buying a box set of rereleases, with fewer accessories for a 25% markup, isn’t an attractive offer to most.

I did a dumb and bought doubles of the L&T Thor's to do a head/arm swap. It was a bit more of a hassle than I was expecting but I much prefer the sleeveless look for MCU Thor and I'm really happy with how it turned.

I know it's more of a he said she said situation but it looks like more and more targets (ohio here; this was in Columbus) are filtering the Love and Thunder set in.

Either they were waiting for space to filter in stuff (with Strange/Eternals stuff shelfwarming) or they literally just had them in the back. Target and some of the other retailers have huge backlogs of stock so they probably haven't been putting ANYTHING new out. This happened to be on an end cap away from the normal figures too.

I dunno anon, I feel like there is some validity to this thought. LIke I said earlier, the next two waves of MLs Bonebreaker, and Controller can be found for less than the new MSRP at multiple different retailers. Granted these places are all stores that don't exclusively sell toys. I think these types of places (Amazon, Gamestop, Target) just aren't confident enough in the new price point. Toy retailers like BBTS and Dorksidetoys could give a fuck since people will always use those sites out of loyalty or last resort.

Completely forgot they were the V2s which look and fit so much better than the original claws.
