Space Marine painting and disassembling

Does anyone here now how to disassemble and paint these McFarlane figures?
I purchased a few and have no idea how to take him apart.
Also if there are some paint tips you can provide I would be very appreciative

Soak in hot water and pop it apart. Wash with a bit of dish soap to take off any factory chemicals.

Actually from the looks of the pic you don't pop them, so how do you paint the knees in the back of the armor?

This is one I did for a friend of mine. I didn't feel comfortable popping the pins myself, as I believe he paid at least $30+ for this, and it was my first attempt at painting a figure like this. I took it apart like >>9880643 and went from there. For inside the knee/elbow joins i used a small layer brush I believe, and then any areas I missed I used a small sharpie.

just get one of the black marines and paint that, no worrying about the joints

Don't use shit that will peel off after painting it or else you'll fuck it up. Research what sort of paint is appropriate for that plastic.

I wouldn't soak them unless you want it glued monopose once you reassemble it. It pops apart quite easily anyway.

There doesn't seem to be a customs general for some reason So i'll ask here. I just bought this primer and it works well on ABS and hard plastics, but it's peeling off of PVC.

Am I doing something wrong? What do you use to prime PVC before painting it?
