I prefer Fin Fang Foom because you can get more tiers unlocked from it than the Blackbird. And before you’ll ask.

Tier 1:Two separate head sculpts modern and classic with one already on figure, making it three.

Tier 2: Classic comicbook Mandarin figure that comes with two head sculpts and two sets of hands.

Tier 3: Fire effects and gate backdrop to simulate his summoning.

Tier 4(if possible): Alternate wings and an effect piece he can grab to simulate it throwing an object.

Gonna be hard to top the Sentinel and Galactus. I wouldn't mind some kind of diorama. The Daily Bugle rooftop, the X-Mansion or Danger Room, Avengers Mansion, Baxter Building. So many options. Also don't forget it's a Soidey Anniversary year this year. They may do something Spider Man related since they hit X-Men and F4.

One with very limited reusability, that’s why. Considering how Spider-Armor’s supposed to be armor, the articulation does well enough I guess. If anything, Ben Reilly’s honking red knee pins are way worse. Can’t they at least retool that mold to have pinless joints since it’ll be heavily reused anyway?

Hasbro better watch out, McFarlane is innovating again. He was stuck on statues for 20 years but he's back flush with cash because for some reason Spawn started selling gangbusters around issue 300.

It only took him 2 years have his company engineer a fix to the ball ankles people didn't like and he's doing all kinds of crazy faux leathery sculpts for capes.

If DC movies ever get the upper hand on MCU, Hasbro may find their big IP isn't enough to save their ancient articulation schemes. They should be working on engineering improvements while they're ahead. Pinless is a step forward but its taking forever to get every figure pinless. The new Mattel MOTU Masterverse and Origins are entirely pinless.

I think the Spider Armor is fine for what it is. It's not a mainline suit, it's not surprising they wouldn't invest that much into the engineering of something that only a niche group of people are going to get. I mean if it was a more mainstream suit it'd be one thing. But it appeared on what, 2 issues, 3 episodes of the 90s show, and was an alt costume in a handful of games. It's hardly like we're talking about something like the Black Suit.

This. All of these envoirnments are more recognizable than many giant characters. But as far as vehicles go, I think the Fantasticar or Punisher's Battle Van are much more feasible than a 6 foot long Blackbird.

At this point how many of the Vintage TAS line actually look like their TAS designs? Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy, Hobgoblin, JJJ all look wrong, while Sandman and Web-Man weren’t even in the show at all. At the end of the day, I think it’s an obscure costume that we all knew would require a brand new sculpt, compared to most of his costumes that can be repaints. And while we got a new sculpt, it wasn’t the classic version that would have made 90% of people happy (and the rest wouldn’t have cared), but rather the PS4 version, for some reason.
Because it’s just Spider Armor, people aren’t throwing a fit, but if they had done that with something like Scarlet Spider, it would be very questionable.

I like the figure but would have much preferred the superior retro style ball jointed chest with waist crunch. Actual pauldrons that move out of the way for articulation but give it a bit more bulk along with the retro mold would have gone a long way I think in making it look better. I do like how the plating looks as well as the black sections looking like Kevlar or something similar.

I get why people are upset with it since they wanted a bulkier more accurate costume. Give Hasbro shit for it so they'll maybe make a better one next time.

This guy came in today. He's alright. The ball joint in his torso is great but not having any lower torso articulation is really a bummer. I feel like if they just added a lower hinge like Retro Spidey he could pull off a superhero landing. As it stands now though, he's not quite able to pull it off. Not nicely anyway. Other than that I only wish the head was more accurate with thinner eyes and red "cheeks". I'm going to dig through my MCU Iron Men and see if I can find something that matches colors.

Yeah, they really fucked up on that one. It's just too bad that I really dig the armor design. I would much prefer a new Extremis Armor from them but I know Hasbro would monkey paw it some way or another. It is what it is though I guess. I am pretty stoked for the new Thor though. They really don't look half bad together. Digging them for a modern Avengers set up. I know Thor is a tad too tall and his costume is the wrong era, but I'm waiting for the new one to show up and use him. I'm gonna see if the head from this guy will work on the Herald Thor, if not I'm gonna use the 80th head. I prefer my modern Thor to have the scales on his arms, I'd prefer a new Copiel Thor but the current one is also too tall and lacks a bit in articulation.

Which version of the modern Avengers do you guys like? The Civil War/Heroic Age era, Marvel NOW, ANAD Marvel, the current iterations? I'm partial for the Civil War era iteration myself. Copiel Thor, Extremeis Iron Man, Classic Cap with a few modern flairs like belt pouches. Basically how they looked in MvC3. Those are the definitive "modern" looks for me. Although I don't dislike how they currently look in the comics.

Marvel Select Mighty Thor. The one with the spinning hammer effect. He's not bad, if not a tad oversized. But since Thor's a god I'm ok with him being slightly oversized. In fact I'd say he's one of the better Marvel Select figures. I'm more of a fan of his Copiel look though than his Marvel NOW one though. I'm intersted in the new one coming out though.

Comic art being what it is, size is always variable. It's not uncommon for artists to draw Apocalypse as being more like 9-10 feet tall. Apocalypse at least has the excuse of being able to change his size, but you also see characters like Sabretooth whose height also varies wildly depending on the artist. Or Blob, who's supposed to be pretty average height but is frequently drawn like a giant.

Which Sentinel iron man should I get for a composite but stylized Iron Man? I like how outlandish the House of M and Modular Iron Men are, but I don't mind the Pentagon / Extremist versions either. Almost all of my collection are from lines that are 10-20 years old and I make sure what I buy stands the test of time.

The only time certain figures have been replaced are when they are superseded by a better version of the same character.

Gorr from mcu thor film 3 doesn't seem like something I'd care for in 5 years, let alone 10.

Marvel Legends have had some pretty serious scale creep over the years. Back in the ToyBiz and even some early Hasbro figs, you had true 1/12 scaled figures. Nowadays though the comic book stuff is closer to 1/11 scale since they use a more "heroic" size for them. I wanna say MCU stuff is still a tad closer to 1/12 but I can't be assed enough to check any of mine atm. Other Hasbro lines like Star Wars Black Series do use a strict 1/12 scale so them and imports tend to be a tad smaller than current day MLs. Honestly, that Sentinel Iron Man is a bit smaller than their other ones and would probably scale perfectly with modem MLs.

Hasbro's justification is for certain lines they use more "heroic" proportions and scale. I wanna say Power Rangers and Fortnite are also like this. Then you have true 1/12 scale stuff that they try to get as accurate to the source material as they can. Star Wars, Ghostbusters and basically any real live action property except PR use this. I think GI Joe does too but I don't collect that.

I think the whole thing is dumb and they should just stick to one unified scale but it's honestly close enough that it doesn't bug me that much. It's not as huge of a difference as 1/12 is to 1/10.

Usually Hasbro is good at predicting this stuff early on by making a comic version before a live-action version hits, so they definitely missed that somehow and just made do with the movie version (for now). Maybe down the line we can get another all-villain wave.

Size-wise it's just a little bigger, since Masterverse figures are quite taller than Legends but also have relatively smaller heads. The hole is smaller than ML standard, though, so you'd need to make it bigger to fit. Depth may or may not be different, it's hard to judge without actually fitting the head down fully.

Just watched few youtube reviews, the ab crunch is so fucking ugly with the gaps and big belly, not having any better articulation engineering outside butterfly joint is ridiculous, especially when other 6 inch lines from Hasbro are having diaphragm joint or ball peg waist and sometimes even dumbbell neck as the new standard. Wolverine has never prevented a wave from pegwarming. X-Men waves tend to follow a pattern where 1-2 figures will be popular and the rest are duds. I think the Apocalypse wave was the last one that really sold well due to a desirable BAF, but even that had a dud in Gladiator, who ironically went for rape prices for a while because everyone regretted not buying him for the BAF part.
