Maybe one of the ancient Decepticon heroes that had their Sparks stored in the area Starscream had his corronation. Those seem like interesting blank slates to work with, and the ones from the opening scene of Bumblebee has shown that blank slate guys seem to work pretty well.

I've heard people use sandpaper fix up pegs that are too big. What kind would you guys recommend, I'm not really sure which I should be using. I mostly need them to help fix up the pegs on a set of 3rd party guns for my figures.

I'd rather wear the pegs down, but I don't know how to do that without damaging the pegs holes on my figures.

Being show characters makes them pretty viable since they finally finished the S1 cast. The big question is if they are going to do Transmetal(2) forms of characters who upgraded to it instead of just coming into existence as that as well.

SS Thundercracker was a surprise I may have overplayed for, but the money goes to charity so that's alright
I talked the guy selling Skids and Blitzwing down to 80 each so that feels alright too

Got Jhiaxus in the mail today from Amazon. Haven't really been following the release schedule for Legacy but I was under the impression he was coming out a little later this year, so it was a pretty pleasant surprise.

Haven't bothered transforming him yet since... his alt mode seems kinda bad, but man that headsculpt is so good. Plus the wrist swivels and pinned knuckles are very nice to have on any size class.

Those things were about 4-5 years old and were originally a T-Mall exclusive; we're only now getting them, hence why they're using outdated designs. That aside, trying to use a only a new paint scheme to make transformers look like humans was a really bad idea - the things look horrendous, and Arcee/Chun-Li gives me nightmares.

very tricky.. so little you'd want to change from rampage and quickstrike from their original toys, they're even the correct size.
rampage does need a little work, some proportion tweaks, but I'm worried he'll end up like poor Infero. God that is a disappointing toy so far. Really hoping we're just looking at it funny and it's gonna be better in hand.

vertebreak is good but isn't exactly feminine. its literally a pile of bones
siege chromia gets a lot of flak (rightfully for the kibble) but her thighs and torso are pretty great for fembot. same for the POTP girls to an extent
it's nice to have more variety in fembots than just arcee repaints

In order to accommodate Earthrise Prime's almost completely different transformation scheme, remolding of certain parts of the legs were necessary. That said, there's no reason they shouldn't have been able to avoid the legs turning out like that. Not only does he look like he looks like he's walking around with a permanent wedgie, but his backpack being attached below his waist inhibits articulation far more than Siege Prime's larger backpack.

Honestly, there was so little they had to do to improve Siege Prime: ditch the roof flood lights in vehicle mode, move the fenders off the forearms, and making a few minor aesthetic changes like having the front windows be completely rectangular instead of dipping down in the middle, and you're all set. Bonus points if you could make the smokestacks less dinky without violating US safety standards.

But instead, despite so many anons seeming to use him as their default G1 Optimus, the improvements are so outweighed by the drawbacks that I still greatly prefer the Siege version.

I agree. I wanted to like Earthrise but too many nitpicks added up to me passing on him. Having a bunch of parts molded in the wrong color was probably the biggest dealbreaker for me. I love the colors of the cell shaded Siege Prime, so that will be a tough one to beat for me.

Cosmos can be whatever gender you want, they are a fictional character from a species of sapient robots capable of reformatting their bodies in a multitude of ways. It's quite unimaginative to think they would not occasionally experiment with changing gender or other aspects of identity in their millions-of-years lifespans. Honestly, Legacy and Kingdom might be worse than any of the yellowing problems in Kingdom. Unlike Kingdom, stuff's showing up yellowed so I can't imagine how much worse it can get. On the newer Legacy and SS figures, we already have:

-Sludge (one case)
-Motormaster (several)
-ES Spike (several)
-Legacy Galvatron (one case)
-Dragstrip (not yellowing, but it seems really common for the flexible plastic to have different hues between parts, some a dark yellow and others lemon yellow)
-Junkheap (several cases on the blueish flexible plastic)
-Coronation Starscream (a mention of elbow joints yellowing, would have to recheck because I can't remember if the same person reported both)
-Blaster (apparently the Kingdom has at least 2 cases I can remember)
-Bulkhead
-Legacy Soundwave

The deluxe minibots have been a mix bag:

Warpath is the best but hes missing paint on his arms and feet.

Bumblejumper mold fucked up the transformation leaving the windshield chest upside down and forcing partsforming.

Hufflepipes truck looks ok, but its bed is at an akward angle and you can see gaps from the side, the bots are too buff looking.

Cosmos has authentics tier gaps on his arms and back kibble.

Late reply, but I showed mine off in a previous thread; here he is from the side so you can get a better view. He works best if you lower his wings and lay the radar dish flat (or remove it entirely), making it a bit easier for other bots to hold and pose with him; the gap between Shockwave's arms is wide enough to allow a Voyager-sized character's upper arm to slip into, so they can still bend their elbow while holding him.

For all we know, he has his own color issue as well. I've seen several copies in store and most of them have some of their flexible plastic notably darker on some sections, most of the time its easy to spot because one arm is darker than the other.

Transformers increasingly target adult collectors over children. It's good that that stuff is gone. There are child-focused gimmick lines that can do that stuff and nobody buys them. If you wanted gimmicks, then Cyberverse had you covered.

Armada Side Swipe was bad in a neat way. Turns into a really boring car, his main gimmick of sticking out part of the car doesn't accomplish much and results in goofy-looking arms, and yet has a really clean storage gimmick for Nightbeat. Runamuck's colors and engine block are really neat though even if it is lipstick on a pig. It really makes him give the feeling of a trouble-making car. I think nowadays we can still have an Armada Optimus who is as bendy if not more bendy than old bendy prime and combine with his trailer while retaining and transferring over that bendiness. The one selling point UT Prime has over G1 is his ability to combine into Super Mode. Way more rad than having a trailer just sitting there as a mobile bay.

Big, beefy, heavy, and he's got ratchet jointed limbs. Really fun to play around with, totally worth grabbing if you can. I regret not getting the normal version (didn't start collecting until around the end of Earthrise), but the SG version is just as fun.

He's a chunky boy. Very few visibly hollow spots. The gripes I do have are his shoulders, which disconnect when you try to move the arms, and the fact that his sideways hip joints are floppy loose. Which is weird when you consider that his forward hip joints are fucking five-ton adamantium ratchets.

Haven't had that issue. Are you talking about the original Siege version? Maybe they fixed that in the SG one, 'cuz all of mine are still nice and tight. He can hold poses as well as my SkyLynx, and can even lift and hold Voyagers with ease.

This is why I went against buying his Earthrise Primal and Springer when I saw them. Did you get the Hondas from Madhaus? I just wanted Skids and when I found one he was 130 so I just passed it up. You're confused, Demolisher was called Ironhide in the Japanese version and stayed that way, presumably because his 'hide' (read: skin) was Iron, fitting of a tough warrior like him. In the English version they considered naming him Scourge since there was a Cyclonus and when Megatron is recoloured into Galvatron it would complete the trio. But evidently they backed out and named him Demolishor instead.

English Red Alert was going to be called Ratchet just as his Japanese counterpart was but IIRC there was something about Hasbro being very against using the Ratchet name at the time. Probably a reason why there never was a toy named Ratchet in the west after G1 all the way until the 2007 movie where Bay brought the name back for reasons and Hasbro were forced to follow suit. I don't think copyright reasons was why Hasbro didn't use the name in the early 2000s. At least he had red visor for the eyes and his left arm blaster is also red

Japanese Red Alert is because of his sirens obviously and that there was technically already a Prowl, the Mini-con from the Emergency team. At least he had red sirens and combined with someone who is red.

Yeah not entirely sure on the origin of this usage, or slag's for that matter - where as something as bike, another synonym for the same thing is easy. Bike = Village bike, everyone has had a ride. Not that calling a tf "Bike" would result in a over-blown international incident like Slag and Spastic. But yeah localisation is a funny thing and I suspect very few countries cause as much trouble for marketing teams around the world quite like the UK does where absolutely anything could be turned into an offensive word/insult/slur. Almost makes me proud to be a Bong... almost.

There's maybe two episodes in G1, the dinobot clone episode in Beast Wars, and one in Prime and that might be it

Closest would be prototype Sideways, a comic-relief character whose Minicon would split into two and act as his Angel and Devil personality. Would be an interesting character having unintentionally stayed neutral and causing chaos for both sides but his Unicron Herald characterization beats it out.

Same, I just want him as is. The megatron on the back of his head gimmick should really go, just include an alternate head like they've started doing with recent exclusives. It could be a blue megatron/reverse convoy figure depending on your preferences, or just how your feeling one day. I hope generations selects can do some more deepcuts like this, that'd be awesome.

Don't have pipes but i do have Huffer and I think they could have done a lot better. Both modes feel pretty physically hollow
and the transformation is feels like its missing steps. Huffer and Pipes don't get wrist swivels like the other minibots and they just feel lower quality than them in general. Huffer feels more solid than Tracks at least.

If you're just looking for a cute little robo dude then Pipes might not disappoint you but for a transformer I think the mold kind of sucks.
