When I was a kid around 20-25 years ago, I remember seeing this toy set I really wanted but my family couldn't afford. It was sorta like a self-contained Lego great ball contraption, with conveyor belts and lifts and corkscrews and I think even remote-control mini front end loaders. There were red and blue balls, not solid but made of parallel slats with the two halves offset by 90 degrees. I remember thinking it was European in origin; I want to say it was something like Robbe or Robben, but I don't have much confidence in that. I found a German RC modeling company called Robbe but I can't find anything they made that matches.

Does anyone else know what I'm talking about?
