But as I mentioned, Japanese made figures like Square's stuff will continue to sell like gangbusters, regardless of /toy/'s antiquated thoughts on the subject. Figures and merchandise like it have always been one of the cores of Japanese anime and games marketability. They design characters keeping in mind the fact that they may be made into figures or statues somewhere down the line.
