I'm wrestling with my conscience over whether I should get more blue glider packs to make that 5 of a kind display, my Targets have them, but it's all the X version, I'd really rather get it from Amazon down the road, but I doubt it'll less than $10, but it'll probably all be the correct version of the glider

Hence it went from nothing on shelves for a while to waves being back to back, same with the deluxe line. What's being released now is all production during covid. Don't you love the ninjas quality control?

It's not even day one of SDCC. It's the preview night. SDCC isn't done until Sunday, reveals may happen. The line is not dead. Hasbro knows collectors will buy Power Rangers stuff regardless of how it's promoted.

My local Target had four of them marked to $17.50 on their sale stickers and I decided to grab him. He rang up as $9 instead. Went back today since I read the Ninjetti and monsters were on sale too, but they didn't have any if those and the In Space glider sets had their clearance stickers removed. Really damn weird because it seems like all the stuff that was on clearance just a few days ago that I had been eyeing wasn't marked down when I went today.

It’s hard not to take this as a bad sign when we already know they had at least one more wave up the pipeline, and we have proof it exists via their own post about Wild Force Blue and the leaked images of Dino Thunder Yellow.
I can’t imagine they’d cancel the line via just not promoting it in any way: they genuinely might be paring down the products to two waves a year and they’re pacing them out, so there’s no reason to have a booth. But that’s some pretty strong copium too.

Metallic White is available from Pulse for $28, though a CNET press release says he'll be available in the fall for $23. Would be nice to know if he'll indeed be released elsewhere for cheaper. The Pulse website does have him classified under the Pulse exclusives tab, though his listing makes no mention of it.

The proportions are a bit odd but I'm still unsure how the shoulders work. Does it come with a pair of plates that can be attached to the gold parts to cover up the real fingers? If so, why? Other shots show that the Dragonzord has the required wrist joints for an accurate transformation.

Save the $100 bucks now and put them aside as if you bought something. Save up until you have enough and once you do get the Megazord, do the same for Dragonzord. Even for Titanus start saving for it now so when it releases you're at least halfway there. Besides the same reason these are expensive they last longer on websites after the 2nd shipment. Depending on the season you'll get good deals.

I'm actually kind of bummed they're completing the team in this set when they could have easily put White Ranger into a third set and used him to sell less popular characters. Would have been a perfect place to stick Bulk and Skull, and you could have included a space dumpster and tiny Rita accessory to make it "White Light" themed. Then throw in Nimrod to round out the set.

Several reasons.....

He's a popular character on In Space, even though the writers suddenly had him show up out of the blue midway through the show's run with no build-up. He's basically Tommy but with a brassy platinum dyed hair and the actor who played him was very charismatic and played a bad-ass ala Tommy.

He's traditionally been hard to find; his 5 inch figure was only available in a box set with the rest of the In Space team made towards the end of the show's run. Also, he was omited when Bandai did their six inch Ranger line as far as making everyone on the In Space team BUT Zhane.

So popular in demand character plus one who a lot of fans never had growing up plus hard to find exclusive is why people are losing their shit over him.

IIRC the metallic MMPR rereleases were a wave or two before the final waves.

Wave 1 - Ninja Storm and MMPR
2 - MMPR and Space
2.5 - MMPR Movie
3 - MMPR and Space
3.5 - Metallic MMPR

Point being that metallic MMPR wasn’t done instead of anything really, but just to make more money with existing molds. I much preferred the 5" scale, and we were one Tommy away from having a complete set in the same scale/style, which is something I've been wanting for ages. This haunted me as a kid, I saw that box and assumed he had a single carded release at some point, looked through every TRU and KB for a long time and never saw it. I was also pissed to learn he got one eventually through the Hwroes line which happened to be one of the few years I totally dipped from PR.

At least Bandai seemed to wise up after that and every 6th ranger after In Space was included in the first wave of toys or among the variant male ranger releases in later seasons.

A lot of old info is at the mercy of resources of the time; someone could've called a Bandai phoneline in the late 90's and asked and was told it was cancelled when in reality it was made in small quantities but not listed in that employee's guide or whatever.

This very thing happened to me. I could not find Divatox for the life of me, even when I waited for stores to open and they were stocked with fresh cases of her wave of ESAs, they never had her. I eventually got so frustrated that I called Bandai about it around the time Turbo was ending, and they told me she never ended up being released.

Around this time Bandai would put old zords in new series boxes. Might be overstock, or a whole new run. The Astro Megazord and Titanus both got retooled, and Ninjor got a recolor. And yeah after a while the Megazord names started getting confusing as generic terms got used early on. All this was probably to get more product on shelves since they wereselling well.

There's also some Wild Force (missing a couple though) that were blister carded in Korea, I think?

The only reason I remember this is I was hunting the 8" rangers down a long time ago. I never did find any pre-Zyuranger/ MMPR despite seeing some bootlegs of Fiveman.

As I've said elsewhere, I'm torn. The stylization is great but it seems like it was sculpted with a the transformations barely in mind. Like the way the Megazord head practically juts out the back of the Tyrannosaurus' head, the Pterodactyl in general, and the Tank mode's cannons.

Then you have the Dragonzord Battle Mode's hip cannons, and you know they're using partsforming as a crutch.

The knee hinges should be lower down, inside the butts of the tiger/triceratops. The leg Zords don't require a particularly complex transformation so there should be ample room in there to set the female connector deeper. Make the t-rex's thighs extendable (with a lock to prevent them collapsing) to retain Megazord leg proportions.

They should at least have access to the prop used in Super Megaforce. Though looking back, that was most likely a touched up Legacy Power Sword. So fuck knows what they're doing, but they could at least try to do it better.

Got my sentries from Target. They look good at a glance but the cape makes it hard to do any good posing, even in a regal guard sense. Also wanted to thank the anon in this thread that posted about them being on the target website. I am in the middle of moving so it was kind of weird opening these up and unpacking the other 2 rangers just to see how they all look together. I will say I am prob going to splurge on the Super 7 throne for my Drakkon.

I'm not super fond of post 2010 stuff and really Ninja storm is the start of the designs I'm not as fond of, but I still like alot of them, just not super high priority. Occasionally a new series comes along and has a mecha I really like Of the the later mecha, I think the SPD zords all look great in particular.
I'm also going to consider pre-PR Sentai stuff because I really love the 80's aesthetic(and its sadly lacking in SoC)
WF came out just as I was winding down and I've always thought it was cool though I thought the lack of regular hands was unfortunate and the more chunky/curvy designs weren't my favorites(my favorite animal zords are probably Zyu and Lost Galaxy) , that said I love the playfactor of the line, all the zords and the combinations are really fun looking

I don't watch his videos regularly, it usually pops up in reccomended when I'm watching sentai related content. I'll click just because he tells a good story.
I like his non review videos, especially when he shows old videos of toy isles, or the member berries type of shit, it hits the nostalgia just right. His wife is also cute. He knows that, and it was probably a sellable item back when YT first started.

I wish Hasbro would make their monsters of the day that way. Cheap figures with minimal paint and articulation, but focusing on good show accurate sculpts. Kind of like Bandai's old monster figures. I've never once in 29 years seen someone ask for Zord toys to be 1:144 scale, yet they boast it as some proud achievement while simultaneously making monsters that don't scale with any of the Rangers or Zords they offer. I personally do want words that size because the dx ones are way too big as an adult collector. I just like the mechanics of putting them together and would rather do it in a smaller scale to have less shelf space taken up.

Okay. You/the guy I quoted said there was zero demand for 1/144 scale megazords, but the fact that Minipla sets sell out quickly all the time suggests that there is demand. Maybe not as much in the IS because they're model kits, but I think small zords would sell well.

It's like when Hasbro started producing monsters for the LC line that were oversized compared to the rangers. They tried spinning it as a positive ("Look how imposing they are next to the rangers!") when that was the very thing everyone was pissed about.

I'd have been on board with fully transformable 7" Megazords, basically the same size as Hasbro's non-transforming Megazord figures. They're the perfect scale for the current season and LC villains (save the stupidly oversized monsters). I love the SMPs, but they're too small for Hasbro's stuff. They work better with Bandai's 5" villains. At 12", even if it didn't have all the unnecessary greeble and shitty proportions, ZAP would still be a hard pass for me. At 7" I might consider it in spite of those flaws.

It was shoddy but the 9'' Hasbro 2020 Megazord was a decent test run for more like it. Individual zords is a bad idea for core Megazords, but as a set the price is decent, its small enough to do a bunch of zords at a decent cost.Its cheaper than a Leader Class TF which is reasonable. For another $20 with better paint I'd be happier.

It honestly feels worth it to get just the complete MMPR team in good quality with tons of accessories. I dont expect them to have the deeper cuts that the LC does.

I wish this was what they focused on: Megazords that fit the mainline series but offer more posability than the original Bandai toys did. The ZAP stuff bugs me because they're trying their hardest to come up with superfluous bullshit to make it seem "premium" and justify the higher price instead of just making a decent product that people want. I wish they continued making Zords that are on par with the Dino Fury releases with maybe some extra paint.
