Sometimes I will talk myself out of opening a figure if the box is special in some way, like that SDCC exclusive Skeleglow from the Masterverse line. He had a really cool window box with a blacklight, and probably looks better in the box than out. I do try to keep the boxes for my imported figures (I mostly do Figuarts, Robot Damashii, MAFEX, Figma, and some other odds and ends), which becomes a big pain in the dick.
For my domestic figures, I've mostly stopped keeping the boxes, though I will often take pictures at all angles in case I want to look at the box again. Fucking autism.
