Just finished coating my next project which is the arms legs and heads of the 80th Iron Man (with 20th as an alternate head).

I’m having doubts about the gold used. I didn’t want it to be flashy gold but now I’m thinking I should’ve gone with Titanium Gold, what do y’all think?

Classic Loki didn't look as bad as those previous efforts though since they actually weathered up his suit and used better materials so it looked nice on-camera. Also it's not as if they pointed at him with a blatant "ha-ha" moment, he was treated fairly seriously as an off-shoot of Loki who survived Infinity War that grew old and lonely without Thor.

Sentinel did a fantastic job on both of these. I don't really want a static Spider-Ham, but if I have to, this is at least a really cool cartoony feeling sculpt.

Gwen looks amazing, much better than Mafex's pretzel thin version. Sentinel's Miles was so much better than the Mafex that I knew they would be the ones to get Gwen right too.

There was someone in the previous Legends thread that asked about buying figures since they just got into buying them. I wanted to give my opinions for new buyers getting into Legends.

It's really fun at first buy whole waves and making the BaF. Sure you get 1 or 2 figures you don't want, but it seems worth it at the time. Then as times goes on, you start to notice you have 2 Deadpool figures that aren't really that distinct from one another, but there different styles so it's okay. Then, you're looking at your 3 Wolverine and begin to stop buying full waves, even though you have 4 different Spider-Man figures pre-ordered. You're still finding it fun to buy limited release figures and even backed a haslab. But at some point, you start to see that many figures you got are getting re-released. Hell, even those pricey baf are now getting slight off-color releases. Why did you even buy the full waves to begin with? Soon it becomes less about buy figures and more about not succumbing to f.o.m.o. Do you want the SDCC exclusive set? All the while, every 2 years, the prices increase, so what was $25 is now $30 per figure, and your noticing more and more shitty practice that don't justify the cost.

Tl;Dr just buy what you want and try not to get fooled by Hasbro's shitty marketing tactics.

I just hope they fix her hands, they're a little too large and boxy. Which is weird because the hands they did for Miles were the thing that made me go with theirs over the Mafex since it matched the art style so much more. Also curious what her other accessories will be since that hair is what she had before meeting Miles. I wonder if she'll have the side cut as a swappable piece along with masked heads. Anyone that says an SH Figuarts hip+legs design is required to get more articulation and are "necessary" for web swinging/crawling poses are being delusional to a toxic level of cope, and retarded at the same time.

The only hip-legs design that works is Mafex, and surprisingly some of the Marvel Legends CAN work. The problem is that barbell design means that if your hips are too large then articulation gets hindered (which is why RYV Spider-Man has to use toe articulation).

Ever since I bitched about it back with the Supaidaman reveal, I've realized that people who have SHF version are incapable of admitting the shortcomings with the crotch design because they want to believe that their figure is perfect.

I own several DBZ figuarts and even though it blends in better in that line, the way it's cut is kind of an eyesore. And that gets revealed with non-DBZ figures. I also hate how terrible the hip/leg cut is.

I'm the guy who posted Supaidaman. I'll agree that Mafex gets you better range of motion with it's drop down style hips while also looking more seamless. But I really don't see what the big deal about the SHFs hips are. They function as well as any other hip setup and I really don't think it looks as bad as some people say. It just doesn't bother me enough. Especially on the SHF Soider-Men vs the MLs. The SHF Toby is leagues better than the ML just because it comes with an unmasked head, let alone the finish inevitably being better. The positives for the SHFs outweigh the MLs imo.

The problem is the unnecessary cuts in its "diaper" (for lack of a better term) compared to the competition.

The cuts are in theory, supposed to help and get out of your way when moving the legs to get even more dynamic movement. Instead, what ends up happening is that you get pretty similar articulation to a hip/barbell design. The only real advantage I've seen with Dragon Ball figures is better kicking motion (both forwards and backwards).

The other thing I think Anons aren't paying attention to is that they're getting duped with SHF's camera angles. the camera angle in >>9948345 is slightly higher than when anon posted the comparison photo with a ML Upgraded suit. Which means that it's not even the hips that give you the advantage, but rather the torso.

People all have their limits on how busy the engineering can look and how much it can take away from the sculpt, and these hips have been derided for a while. In the SHF threads, people bitched that they don't have the range as the older hips did on some figures.

Personally, i dislike the seamless joints that get posted in generic soft good toys thread and coomer thread, because those rubber overlays still look bad when bent and they still ahven't addressed the cracking problem.
Softgoods clothes is something else entirely and can look good or bad, depending on the quality, type of clothes they use, and tailoring abilities. So Mezco's are generally great, while NECA's are generally MEGO-tier. Other companies are mostly a mixed bag.

Don't get me wrong the paintjob does look really nice in person as well but it's most likely my Pixel 6's camera that you're liking so much. The camera itself isn't anything super special either. It's the software the processes the image that makes the pictures turn out so well. Ever since I got this phone I outright stopped using my DSLR unless I need it for something super specific. The phone's camera is honestly on par with it imo. Hell, I'd argue it actually takes better macro shots than my DSLR.

Oh yeah that's definitely the camera. The blue is matte and not metallic at all. Like I said, it's probably the post processing the camera does when you take a pic. The backend software really does a phenomenal job of automatically correcting and adjusting things. It may not be as true to life in some instances, like here (the room was pretty dark and I took a pic in front of. Alright monitor), but it makes for a damn good looking picture. Gotta hand it to Google. It really is the best phone camera in the market. It's one of the primary reasons I stick with the Pixel (that and I prefer vinilla Android).

I find worth in all brands. Some figures Hasbro makes are genuinely good. They also make figures no other brand would, like goofy Razorback. Even if I don't want him I'm glad they exist since it's something different. The other brands have pros and cons too. I'm not personally going to pay a hundred for a figure unless it's something I absolutely must have which is very rare if ever.
