Mandarake, I can voch for. I live in India and they deliver stuff here and I've always gotten what they show/describe. They are very genuine but knowing a little Japanese helps communicate with their staff better.

Something also looks off about his head. I know that's a weird thing to say considering it's a snub nose revolver with a jaw underneath, but I almost feel like the proportions are off. I think the gun part should be a bit bigger and the jaw a bit smaller.

I get the feeling that 1000toys was made with the purpose of collaborating with other artists and niche properties and maybe Sentinel wanted them to move in a different direction. Most of the time you see people in senior creative positions like Saki jump ship is the infamous "creative differences" reason. It would be like if Yamaguchi just up and left Kaiyodo one day.

1000toys has been a massive disappointment in recent years. They had a great early run with the Nihei and Kim Jung-Gi collabs, then just descended into making the same licensed slop as every other company. The DMC figures were awful and the only remotely good or interesting things they’ve done recently are the comic Hellboy figures and Juzo from No Guns Life.

My fem synth leg decided to snap at the hip and it threw me into a depression. They decided a tight straight peg on a hinge was a good enough connection instead of a beautiful balljoint like the regular synth has. I'm glad we're going back to nihei stuff.

I liked a decent amount of their licensed releases, especially their Infinite Master Chief and Juzo, but agreed, honestly.

Restarting with a new company and getting back to the artist focused stuff that made the earlier 1000Toys stuff great is only a good move and I hope that this new company can keep the momentum going.

I know its a long shot since even Nihei himself doesn't like his old designs for some reason but if they ever make a Cibo I hope its her pic related design or at least one of her manga iterations. The Cibo in the movie and on the cover of my BLAME! Master Edition has those absurd blade feet and lanky Synth style arms which would not translate well to a toy.

Just found out the 2017 BLAME! movie bluray collector's edition came a short manga chapter that acts as a sequel to the movie(which is a separate universe from the original 1997-2003 BLAME! manga).

So I did some research. It appears Nihei and his editors must have cancelled whatever that "sexy oppai shibo" cover was for because his mention of needing to finish Aposimz Vol 2. cover art the next day dates these events he's talking about around December 2017-January 2018 because Aposimz Vol 2. was published February 9th, 2018. That kinda makes this story even more depressing because whatever BLAME! content involving a sexually fetishized shibo that caused Nihei to become disillusioned with his worth as an artist ended up being all for nothing.

Got no problem like that with mine either. Got Killybalso since 2018, along with an Exterminator and Etherow.

The sad reality is that he's hit minor success with KoS but he definitely does not have a "huge following". As far as manga-ka go he is on the lowest end of success because his work has always been niche. He has a hardcore cult fanbase but not enough to give him the clout to tell his editors to fuck off.

Same, watched some videos after he got released and i'm really glad it's getting the reissue, the after market prices were retarded.
