>>9960413 Depends on how big they make him, and which version of Android Krang they're making. Are they doing a giant one, or a scaled one, like Playmates did later in the vintage line? He should be around Bebop and Rocksteady's height if the latter. That figure in the vintage line came with a smaller Krang, and so I'd imagine the Super7 would perhaps do the same. He could end up being a $90 figure like Mon*star in Silverhawks. If they make the even bigger giant version, I couldn't imagine him not being a $200 figure.

>>9960453 >>9960455 Looks really good. I think it'd be more fun if this line series did its own thing rather than just be TMNT. >>9960497 well first of all it would be dumb to make two
secondly i think we can at least soft agree that the original toys were oversized and undersized. the correct size is somewhere in between.
what I want is the same size as the original, which in this scale would be more reasonable. after all, new bubblewalker krang is smaller than old bubblewalker krang compared to their respective turtles, right?
if they did him at toon height, which would definitely be in between, then you have to give him a huge belly to hold krang. which is what the cartoon did..
but while I want the bigger guy, I still want him to come with the accessories from the old one (minus the superfluous mini-walker) plus some more fun ones, whatever they can think of.
Anonymous
>>9960544 well they're tiny, so unless you have very small turtles, he's gonna look weird.

>>9964880 >>9964883 Its a neat idea, but to me, the figures seem much, much lower quality than the actual vintage ones. The paint seems much sloppier, the plastic even looks cheaper, and most of the figures I saw at Walmart of the original four turtles, the joints looked like they were popping apart on almost half of them. I guess for the $13 it probably beats paying the prices that the vintage figures are going for, but they just seem too cheap looking to me.
Crimson Commander !!uoqqXVkn8aK
>>9964888 Some of them seem better than others. The Mutant Module set, they cut paint apps on Bebop and Rocksteady, and even didn't paint on the toes for the Foot symbol on the Foot Soldier's forehead. The Slash and Krang in that set are perfect. Baxter's decent in the set, but the original vintage release still had more paint apps. I'd assume that they did the set on a budget, and probably could have done better if it were a 4 pack(they seem to be doing 4-packs now instead of 6). I'm fine with them being different and treating them like variants, since the original vintage line often had things like that going on, including unpainted details. The Movie Star Shredder is also worth picking up, since he was probably the best Shredder in the vintage line. And it appears that the Sewer Heroes figures will have all or very close to the vintage figures in regards to their paint apps. And the Sewer Sports set seemed pretty good. They previously re-released a couple of those before, but in the earlier re-issues they were missing paint apps(probably for budge reasons).
I'd like to see more figure packs. Storage Shells and Mutant Military(they have molds for two of them already) are high on my list. And some more re-issues of key characters.

One of those novels was turned into the second movie, "Daughter of Darkness." Her canon is better than Kajishima's, and Kajishima turns his into a convoluted hentai harem story that ends up ruining the dynamic of the series. Kajishima also seemed to dislike Ryoko and decided to change her despite that she was most popular character. He said she wasn't a realistic woman, and that women don't act like her in real life.

But instead he marries and impregnates all of them, even the pet mascot, Ryo-oki. He even cucks his great grandfather. The other canons for the most part stick to the idea that he has to choose one and only one girl, and that's part of the plot of the movie Tenchi Forever, where it seems to implyhe chooses Ryoko(who's not Kajishima's pick apparently).

This is easy to follow.

I'm feeling nostalgic about the Turtles and want some action figures, but I don't know if I'd be satisfied just grabbing some vintage or vintage-esque cartoon figures. I'm certainly open to the idea of going full retro because that does have appeal, although to me Ninja Turtles is more than just the cartoon. It's also the comics, the movies and the 2000s cartoon that was airing when I was a teenager. Does anyone have a solid recommendation for some TMNT action figures that are more detailed and just kind of capture the best general spirit of the franchise? 6" scale would be preferable. Pic related is basically how my brain blurs together every version of Ninja Turtles that I liked. I remember either McFarlane or Neca had some good looking ones years ago but I'm wondering what's currently on shelves so I don't have to deal with second hand eBay stuff, if I can avoid it. Short of that, the OG cartoon turtles might have to do.

the closest you could get is the Super7 ones based on the old toys, with their alternate heads that are in more of a generic style not tied to any particular branch of the franch. they aint cheap but they're currently on sale, and you wouldn't be able to get any more generic guys to go with them since everything is very much 'the toyline designed alongside the cartoon' nostalgia. But they are the most detailed for sure, except maybe the neca movie line, which does an amazing job representing the Creature Shop designs, but again that's very specific.. yeah I think your desire for more general middle of the road TMNT is strangely unmet at the moment.
would you be okay with 2003 series figures if those came out? because in my mind those more or less represent the 'general TMNT' at least until the style changed and they became more angular. I wish they'd stuck a little more to the toyline skin color scheme though, I still think that's unsurpassed.

>>9972253 What are you talking about? First week of Haulathon things sold out quickly, but were later relisted that day. The following weeks everything went up on time and were around for hours at a time. I think the Leatherhead and Slash set probably sold pretty quick, but they very often had plenty of stock to go around for every item.

>>9972483 quite agree
someone post pictures of the new Mirage figures, because while i don't exactly love that style, I do think they're probably the best middle of the road turtles at the moment..
>price range well yeah that is the trick isn't it. they're frequently on sale right now, so you could probably get them for 33-34 each, but you'd have to keep your eye out and watch those prices fluctuate..

haslab was successful with their giant toys neca is making the party wagon no what if neca made a giant version of krang just like in the cartoon to scale with the toon turtles will you get one?
Anonymous
>>9972545 i remember him growing a lot larger than that, but I might be thinking of the arcade game.
anyway I don't think I'd get one, but it would be neato. for me I just want a figure in the normal scale, and if he grows.. i'll use forced perspective by putting him closer to my eye and squinting and pretending.

>>9972519 The new Mirage turtles do look pretty dope. I hope they make a variant with the TV bandanna colors because that'd absolutely make my day (although I could repaint them myself if I had to).
Anonymous
>>9972815 gotta admit, I love seeing mirage turtles with colored bandanas..
but I also want to see them with the toy skin colors. Because that's how I first saw the mirage designs, on things like puzzles or various other memorabilia.. actual mirage art, drawn by the artists, but colored by people who were more familiar with the toyline I guess. or the toyline designers who were mirage artists too, maybe them. Something about these serious TMNT with white eyes, it did something for me. I had no idea about the comics

>>9972868 That's the interesting thing I didn't think about when I was a kid, how there were actually multiple versions of Ninja Turtles and I just wasn't aware of it. I was just a kid and they were all similar enough that I didn't realize that sometimes the turtles were drawn with bigger more adult proportions and with white eyes, or that the toys had white eyes and the cartoons had pupils, and let's not forget how some versions had initialed belt buckles and others didn't. It wasn't until I became an adult that I realized how many differences there were, and that also makes it a lot harder to nail down what my "perfect" ninja turtle action figure would look like.

I didn't have a full grip on how different parts of the franchise were, and I would ask my parents why such and such as if they'd actually have an answer, but... yeah I am with you, tmnt is a FEELING. it can be hard to pin it down.

>>9963011 Not entirely true. Sometimes people selling loose figures need a box to raise the value if their sale. Or sometimes need the box to their loose figure they'd like to store in its original box. If sold a few rare gem boxes or Givin many empty boxes on offer up or groups & were usually used to resell their loose figure packaged for more cash. However many are for scam purposes.

>>9971946 >>9971969 I will unfortunately have to say the opposite. They ignored my preorders, then when I contacted them about it, they were out of stock and refunded me. Since so much time had passed since the toys' release dates, I feel like if I hadn't reached out, they would have just taken my money and just keep on truckin.
I Googled around and found similar stories from other customers. I am still using Dorkside unfortunately, because they provide some unique services like cheaper figures without BAF parts. But I am through with preordering anything there, they simply are not reliable. I only buy there if the item is in stock now.

>>9973198 generally anyone who takes money before the pre-orders ship is .. i don't want to say untrustworthy, but in my experience unreliable. I went to Toy Snowman or possibly Toys Now Man.. I think the former.. because they were the only ones that had the april/casey farm pack, and it sat in pre-order for like 7 months before finally it appeared online properly elsewhere. Now it was a longshot, but still. they took my money in advance and they got to sit on it for a pretty long time. It's the only canadian online toy store that ships to the US, so I was willing to pay a little extra to get those characters because that entire part of the movie is so fucking.. cozy. even without April's nip-ons. Come on third party, give us that.

Anonymous
>>9974315 I use PayPal with them. I actually liked the pay up front thing, I have some mental health issues that make it difficult to keep track of future things like preorders. So it works perfectly for me to set and forget, with no need to set aside funds for later, or do anything else really, until the toy just arrives in my mailbox.
In my naivete, I never anticipated that a company might take advantage of me for this.
