Most peeps ignore unitron other than the monorail. The base aint bad, and the Star Hawk II is prob the coolest midsize ship out there.

I really like the theme despite only having four sets. Yellow helmets and dark grey minifigs are striking, and the color scheme is hard to replicate naturally. The unit part lives up to the name, all the cockpits are interchangeable between sets.

I am the anon with a huge backlog of used lots and wanted to ask you creeps for advice about sorting. What I have been doing is after the Lego is washed, I put it into gallon ziplock bags. Then when I feel like sorting I open a ziplock back and grab handfuls of Lego, put it on the table and start sorting based on part and where pieces will go in my storage configuration. When the table is sufficiently filled up with various piles I compare whats on the table to the many bricklink wanted lists I have for sets I am trying to piece together. Then when that part is done I start moving them to the storage drawers or bags they should go in. I recently bought a big plastic bin and dumped a couple of the zip lock bags in there. I am thinking maybe it would be more efficient to sort by looking in the bin and pulling out larger pieces first, then getting specific. Like "now I am going to pull out all the 2x6, 2x8, 2x10 plates." And then put them directly into the storage containers. If I have a greater familiarity with the pieces on my wanted lists it would be faster. Anyway, thanks for reading my livejournal. Any help is appreciate.

What I do is I have an empty bowl or container and I dump unsorted pieces there. Then I sort to differenrn containers without thinking about it. One is for basic bricks and plates and tiles, slopes, etc. One is for technic bricks, pins, clips, etc, and one container is for odd shaped pieces like wings, minifig accessories, windshields, tires, etc.

I do it this way because I have a few of those storage containers with the little drawers, and I have one dedicated to bricks plates and slopes, one for technic stuff, clips, pins, and bars, etc, and another for windows, tires, wheels, car boat and airplane parts, etc. Works 4 me.

The designer is a retard though, the macaroni bricks at the base of the ramp lock everything together and keep you from accessing the forestmen hideout so I replaced them with a couple 1x2 slope bricks.

I'm in a similar position in that I accumulate a fuckton of unsorted lego every week. My method works well enough for me. Firstly I made a sifting system like pic-related except out of some spare 18" PVC and various gauges of wire fence. The most course filter stops medium plates and some longer 2xN plates, and the finest catches everything except 1x1 plates and tiles. I stack the filters and sift about a gallon of parts at a time while pouring water with a bit of white vinegar through it. Anything still dirty gets hit with the ultrasonic cleaner. This leaves me with rough piles based on size that I seperate into a few generic categories. YMMV but my categories are 1xN plates, 2xN plates, all other plates, 1x1 plates/1x1 tiles/1x2 tiles, 2xN tiles, all other square tiles, all round tiles, 1xN bricks, 2xN bricks, modified bricks/SNOT bricks, all slopes/curved bricks, all hinges/bracketry, and then misc items grouped up by discretion. It's not meant to be precise but it's an extremely fast way to cut big bins into piles of easier-to-sort BS you can process inside the house while enjoying something else. If you're handy just try cutting up a few filters and see if you can factor them into your routine. I suggest making your first wave out of cardboard boxes or something cheap so it's easy to experiment with grate size.

What they probably would not eat in a castle would be the that white tuber.... eating veggies that grow in the ground was only eaten by peasants mostly. I think that nobility ate veggies, remember that lineages wasnt so prevenalnt in first part of medieval, most growing nobility class were accquiring their place throught knighthood, they were plain folk that wasnt equicite, they kids and grandkids had more chance to be antiveggies. Peasant definitely enjoyed meat, but they probably only got it on Sunday dinners and such. I'm guessing that culturally as knighthood became more of a tax and title thing, diets were probably expanding for everyone through trade and knowledge.

There are absolutely rubber bands you can buy in bulk that are equivalent to Lego. Just google "rubber band supply" or "rubber gasket supply" and download a few catalogs and research which bands are equivalent to what you're looking for. It might take an email or two with a supplier showing them what criteria you're looking to replicate. But I'm not really giving advice here, I'm just saying that what you seek is easily available, provided you know what you're looking for, pick up the phone, and buy by the gross. Take an hour to get your shit together and you'll be set on bands for life.

I suggested another 10 bucks and she said no on grounds that the kid liked having the actual item. They did say that they'll let me know if he wants to get rid of the two models he did keep (the maersk and a UCS Y-wing - which means his taste is actually pretty good).

I picked up the three tubs and put them into one big one so I can deep clean them. I'll take a big fat pic of everything poured out on a drop cloth before I clean and sort it so people have something to gawk over.

I had a similar situation like 4 years ago, it was a fb marketplace ad for a bunch of mixed lego in a huge tub. drove like 30 minutes to their house, I pull up to this gated neighborhood of multi-million $ homes, the gate guy has to see my license and takes down my plate number, asks what house I'm going to and what the owners names are, all that shit. I finally get to the house and the mom is leading me through their fucking mansion into their basement and she's telling me that the kid has always liked lego but one day decided he specifically only liked trains and he wouldn't touch anything else. so we walk into the basement and there is winding and intersecting train tracks and trains everywhere on the ground, basically not a single place you could walk without having to step over the shit, probably 2 dozen+ trains. it was fucking wild and I think she saw my surprise on my face because she just goes 'yeah, it's kind of a lot'.

I'd say it's a pretty good value. not quite as many specifically "space" parts as I'd like but none of them are outright useless either. surprisingly there's a lot of plant parts for whatever reason. And frogs. lots of frogs. If you check the images on the Lego site you should get a pretty good idea of what you're in for.

I always check the bricklink list and also noticed all the coral coloured parts, including all the frogs and leaf plates. The big rounded slopes and ray guns are useful for space builds though.

I'd pay like five bucks a pound for that. Sorting year 2000+ confetti barf is time consuming and unrewarding. There's a few good things in there but the rest is a burden unless you truly had no collection to begin with.

Use warm soapy water. A salad spinner does help dry stuff off - if you let them dry naturally youll get mineral / hard water spots.

I've tried doing things like dishwashing but there is nothing better than just a quick warm soapy soak with a fine gentle brush.

It's an MOC I made using some of the parts to a mini dragon sub-build that came with the new Samurai X Mech set. Its a dragon, but it has a cockpit and a driver, so I guess I'm counting it as a mech. Also, that's where I got the minifig you're asking about (with the Oni mask).

Something with a unique colour scheme like those in the space prototype post I replied to. That sand purple + trans neon is badass. Not too many unnecessary nulego colors, keep it calm, with colours that stick out being used for elements that need it. I'd love a good chunk of location/geography sets. Of course you're gonna need spaceships (say, a big mothership and a mid size carrier) and other vehicles, but I'd like little bits of alien planet foliage and environment and ideally baseplates like the landing area one from classic space or the ones with landscape profiles.
The "plot" premise would be the exploration and studying of the newly discovered planet's ecosystem, which also leads to encountering different obstacles. Things to discover and/or deal with including local wildlife, people (alien society), the unique geography of the biomes etc.
And most importantly, make it affordable, but I know that's not happening

The posters in /lg/ did. In the period that this thread (With currently 160 posts) has been up only 50 posts were made in the Bionicle OP thread, most of which is either complaining about multiple/wrong threads or posts that got reposted here (Mechanons' crystal dragon mech for example). People clearly want to use this thread over the one with Lewa in the OP, hence why there's been seven actual /lg/s made in the time that one has been up for. If we take all those threads together and add up the number of posts, there's been nearly 3400 posts made in the proper /lg/s versus the 273 in the Lewa one.

I actually like both System and Bionicle, but I can at least understand the differences between the two. Generalizing it down to "Bionicle is Lego because it's made by Lego" is fucking retarded, you don't see Star Wars in the Marvel General despite Hasbro making both Black Series and Marvel Legends and them technically being compatible with one another. They have two completely different audiences, and the majority of people in Lego General don't care for Bionicle.

Not the autistic anon from earlier, but to play devils advocate, I use bonkle pieces in my MOCs all the time. When making mechs, it's common place to merge system, technic, and bionicle pieces.

Last night, we scored our first big hit, picrel (original ask was $700)

Sometimes you get sellers that list stuff they have interest in and just put in the price they see in completed listings. Then if it sits a long time with no offers, they'll just accept whatever comes around to make room.

If people don't want low offers coming in, they can just set the listing to reject offers under x amount.

The fuckoff ten dollar lego lot has been sorted, cleaned, centrifuged, and is laid out to dry overnight. There were two small mega blocks mechs and a cobi tank so not bad for a cheap lot. There are lots of parts for a few star wars ships and other vehicles - final inventory tomorrow will tell me if I can build any or if I can infill from my personal parts. There's also a technic forest machine in there so I'm amped on that. All I need to do now is re-snap all the sorted parts into convenient wads, weigh everything except the good stuff, and call my guy to barter. I pick up lego lots frequently but this is about double what I pick up in any given run so I'm entertained by all the bullshit.

Oh, and I have a hunch I'm gonna be getting that maersk. I have basically all the containers for it, a few of the stickered parts, and I also have a big wad of the parts of the Y wing the mom said the kid had kept. Pretty sure I can try to snag it for another little bill in a few weeks based on the vibe I got today. That'd be a real non-volume win.

Didnt like the colors default nexo knight helmets come in so I painted them silver and swapped out the shield shingles.

Personal lore explanation for this existing alongside castle and black falcons is that nexo-stuff is lost artifact dwarven tech.

For years, since back before Lego actually got the license, I've wanted to make a bunch of MOCs and minifigs based on Lord of the Rings. Mostly it was inspired by seeing this https://brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=9222
I still want to do it and in fact have started to collect parts to make minifigs of the characters here and there. Due to the relativity high after market prices for LotR minifigs and parts, I'm basing them more on the books and my own imagination and less so on the movies. 'll use actual parts from the official theme in places, but for the most part they'll be made of more easily available parts. And they'll be yellow (well except for the elves, who will be fleshies), so I've also been on the look out for good yellow heads for the characters/minifigs
Now, that "Ferry Captain" is obviously suppose to be Edward Smith, captain of the Titanic... who was played by Bernard Hill in the 97 movie. Hill went on to play Theoden in Lord of the Rings. I think that head looks like it would make a good Theoden so the "Ferry Captain" is my highest priority from this wave.

The grills and all headlights are printed on. The only stickers are the license plates, doors, and Aston Martin logo. Also the studs on top of the aston martin makes it look kinda ugly for a sleek car. If they just used a tile piece instead of plate it might look 1000000 times better.

Ideally, I'd like to put something in the park bit that's Fantasy themed; either stuffing a Dragon in amongst the Dinosaur paddocks, a mini-dragoncoaster like the one from that Legoland set or maybe some sort of medieval theme restaurant to compete with the Noodle shop.
The absolute King at the store threw the Forest Hideout set in with my £35 worth of Pick a Brick cups, so I could use that as a starting point for it.

Before I decide on that though, I'm planning out a garage/office for these two very legitimate businessmen.

Same. I know basically nothing about Studio and only dabbled in the brand-new LDD as a kid. I want to whip up my chainsaw upgrade from the technic ATV set in Studio to learn the instructions feature and offer it for free since I think it's a solid simple design and wholly upgrades the already-brilliant original side build.

Everytime i see a set that potentialy intrest me as a part bin, I come to few ideas for build in my mind. He's from 60293 Stunt Park. If you search for Tread Octane (apparently he's a character in the Lego City show) you can find him separate cuz he's been in a few sets, and the 2022 official annual and some activity book.

i like more "medieval" theme sets but im not fan of this one, it feels to cramped and building interior are way to small (meadhall especialy). I remember seeing it submited like 2 years ago, did it get 10k just now or lego have picked it up after all this time? What do you all think of my shelving concept for Lego sets? When I get a house, I want to install tons of shelving across at least two walls to display my current and future sets.
I was thinking something like this, the red represents an acrylic door to reduce dust. It would have a hinge on the bottom and a magnet or something on the top.
Thoughts/ideas??

I was worried if the hinge is at the top, then the door might fall down on a set while I'm trying to move it in/out.

As for the top row I'm not really sure how high or how much extra space I want to leave. Not sure if it would be better to bring acrylic panels all the way to the top, or to give the top shelf a roof. I would not put anything on the bottom, because I would not see it well. Bottom area is for storage.

Think about the weight and depth before you buy shelves and support. I recommend 40cm, almost all lego released sets can fit within this dimeter, and support should be very best, with 4-6 screws per shelve going into the wall 7cm minimum.

I don't. I hate blind bag packaging shit personally so I just wait till my local 3rd party Lego store gets them and sells them. They usually charge a dollar more, but I don't care because it saves me from wasting time bag fondling.
