So in the previous thread people were talking about the Buzz Lightyear vehicles. And while the space jet and armadillo both seem to work great for 1:18 stuff, I just got the space pick-up truck in hand and it's cab is way oversized compared to 1:18 figures. Overall it's a pretty fantastic little truck, but 1:18 figures look like little kids trying to drive the thing. That said there's tons of room to mod in a better dashboard and seats, but right out of the box it's not really that compatible. Also, the yellow storage tank in the bed seems to be either glued or fused to the bed itself, so it'll only come out by cutting it out. And the peg the crane arm attaches to is pinned in place, so you can't just unscrew it. You can unscrew the seats though, so it becomes a bit easier to mod. Moving them up would be enough to make this thing work much better for the 1;18 scale.

TIL that the A-Team 2011 movie toys flopped so badly that even loose bare-bones action figures from the line go for more on eBay than the 1980s vintage toys. And the van goes for less than the action figures themselves (probably because it sold well due to being a pretty accurate recreation of the 80s version). It's a shame Super7 / Reaction doesn't have 80s A-Team figures. I wonder if it's because Jazzwares still have the rights, or if it's because the 2011 movie toyline bombed so badly that not even Super7 will touch the A-Team license? I don't wanna buy the van on spec hoping that the action figures I want for it will come later, but if Super 7 does ever come out with 80s A-Team figures, the prices on the 2011 van are gonna go through the roof and I'll be mad that I didn't get one when I had the chance.
Anonymous
>>10000421 I think she looks better without the hat, and the lipstick is a bit much. But otherwise she looks really good. Are those soft goods custom or did they come with a BFS figure?
>>10003230 I remember when this movie came out it was impossible to find the van, especially for anything resembling a decent price. I'm sorta tempted to hunt one down, but the prices are a bit too high for me to randomly splurge on one when I have far too many things on pre-order.
Still would love to get one eventually, it's always handy to have a good van around.
Anonymous
>>10003361 The way I see it the price works out similar to the Playmobil A-Team van, although the Playmobil van comes with the characters whereas the 2011 van is fully 1:18 compatible.
Getting vehicles from Super7 / ReAction seems to be pretty much off the table. They made a Michael Knight figure but unless you get a super expensive OOP KITT replica or modify a Playmobil one, Michael is gonna be huffing it. I say this because it means A-Team ReAction figures aren't out of the question, but the van probably is.

>>10003514 Quick followup, I received a seller offer on the A-Team van and ended up getting it for $60 + shipping and tax. I've never bought a toy on spec before and it feels kind of silly, although in this case I'm buying it under the speculation that Super7 / ReAction is going to eventually put out 80s A-Team figures, and then this thing is going to become prohibitively expensive because everyone buying the figures is going to want one.
I liked to movie and I would have been fine getting those versions of the characters but that ship has already sailed. There's always going to be a market for memorabilia for the original series though, and thankfully the movie van was virtually identical to the one from the show. It's a shame they dropped an industrial air conditioner on it in the first 20 minutes, because in the show that van was as much of a member of the team as any of the main characters.

Grabbed the alien guy from the Fortnite line, and the figures keep blowing me away. The proportions looked really fun, but I couldn't tell if he had any torso articulation from the box.
Anonymous
He fuckin does - diaphragm ball joint, like usual, but he also has a Marvel Legends style hinge waist, so he's got REAL good torso articulation. It's at the expense of a swivel waist, but that's an easy sacrifice. Wish he had mote than just rocker ankles, but whatever.
Anonymous
He comes with a little Mario Kart saucer on a ball joint stand that probably appears in the game somehow (I have no idea), which is sorta neat and he can sit comfortably in, but it also bumps up the price like $7-8. Caveat emporium.
Anonymous
Super happy with this guy, even at the beefed up price. I don't love all the dumb gimmicks they're throwing in to raise the prices, but I'm also never unhappy with the figures themselves. Whatever. > Hey Marauder Task Force Vietnam Backers! We hope you are all having a great summer! Your Marauders have been very busy! Between regular Marauder website business, toy shows & convention and dealing with all our new projects, it has been hectic. With the still on-going havoc from the international pandemic and those famous supply chain issues we had to make some tough business choices regarding Marauder projects and their priority. We made the painful decision to push off & stop work on ALL NON Vietnam projects (Ultra, Astronauts, Scuba, new Vals, Halo gear, etc) to direct all development & production resources to the massive MTF Vietnam project. We have proven manufacturing partners in place that have successfully delivered all of our previous Kickstarter projects (MTF Troopers, Vals, Exo suits, K9s, WWII, etc.).
Anonymous
>>10013258 Marauder has successfully delivered several Kickstarter projects and the MTF Vietnam project will be no different. With the release date being so far out, we put our efforts toward the project and less to Kickstarter maintenance. Unfortunately, we assumed most folks who pledged to our Vietnam project had previously backed a Marauder project and had faith in the process. The Marauder Task Force Vietnam Kickstarter was very successful (thank you!) but still only generated about half what is required to produce the items. The need to self fund almost 50% of the project expenses were the same funding requirements we had for ALL of our previous Kickstarter projects, so we knew what to expect. We have heard from some backers that they are upset at our process. To that effect, if any supporter does not want to be part of the project, we will gladly send a refund AFTER the items are released (sorry, the 10% Kickstarter fees are not refundable). FYI - With the current runaway inflation & increased costs, the regular website prices for the items will be MUCH higher than the discounted Kickstarter prices.
As with all of our Marauder Kickstarters, we are committed to the project and are working to satisfy all of our backers. Marauder has been around since 2005, we ship several thousand regular website orders each month and have delivered multiple successful Kickstarters...we are in this for long term.
Thanks again for your patience and we'll work to direct more attention to the Kickstarter update process.
Thanks for your support!

>>10013260 So, why are they offering refunds? Because they canceled other unrelated projects or are there things I backed fir that I'm not getting?
Anonymous
>>10013815 Basically they're saying that they lowball the actual cost to produce as many figures/accessories as they solicited.
Let's pretend that the primary figures to fund the Kickstarter is the actual cost. All the stretch goals are 50% of the actual backers needed.
So everyone gets the main product by backing the KS, while only a few people actually buy the stretch goal figures. So the stretch goal figures aren't fully funded and MGR needs to pay out of their own pocket to have them produced, because they expect for the add on/stretch goal figures to sell well on their store later.
Despite the amount of money they raised, just selling figures A, B, C, and D won't actually pay to produce figures G, H, I, and J.
Even multi-billion dolllar companies like Hasbro and Mattel ask for loans to produce shit almost every year.
>>10014007 Yeah, it's worded weirdly and missing some info. I don't quite understand what the problem is, but it seems people are bitching about the length of time it's taking to produce? Maybe? And they'll be offering these bitches a refund if they want to back out.

>>10014166 Kickstarter is a bitch and a half. People think it's a simple pre-ordering system from established companies who know what they're doing, but in 99% of cases it's not.
With Kickstarter, you should always expect at least a year of delays.
Companies like McFarlane were one of the few companies who have their shit together and even they had a delay of a couple of months for Spawn, which could be blamed on Corona.
Anyway, people bitch and bitch and bitch. Even i bitch and hope that every single time i back something that the kickstarter doesn't make more than 100% of it's goal, beause every single fucking stretch goals ALWAYS causes even more delays. But no use in crying over spilled milk, right? After a KS reaches 200%, i resign myself to forget about it and be pleasantly surprised 3 years later that my stuff got to me.
MGR basically said that they had hoped everyone who backed their vietnam KS were former backers and would know to expect delays, but of course not, and these n00bs hate all the delays and bitch to get their money back because it's 18 months late.
And Corona adds to these delays, so even regular collectors are getting fed up.

There's a guy who already did a review for the AMP suit and it's definitely 1:18 scale, so it's likely Miles is too.
I already own two Mattel AMP suits, but I'm definitely double dipping for the extra detail.

The smurfs use the same packaging and go from the water lilly pad all the way up to bottom of the vine that's hanging from the top.
DO YOU LIKE THAT WORDING?
$25 for a 1:18 figure, but probably the most articulated 1:18 figure yet. More than Hiya and JoyToy. Definitely feels like it's worth the extra $$$.

>>10032508 I hope he ends up at least 4" tall. I have to say, seeing him I'd be interested in McFarlane doing a 4" line. The elbows are a bit whacky but I'm a function over form guy, so it doesn't really bother me. It looks like one of their 7" figures scaled down, and I'm surprised at how well it transitioned. They could probably hit a lower price point after dropping a few accessories. The sculpting on the guns do look a bit soft.
Anonymous
>>10032508 >They could probably hit a lower price point after dropping a few accessories. The price is $25 because it's part of the 7" collector line, so I'm pretty sure McFarlane would have stuck him into the $15 toys if it didn't cause a mess of confusion.
Considering the 24.99 price point, that means it's going to be in the comic shops and other direct market stores, and of course, the collector aisle in Target/Walmart.
... or is this just a sign that McFarlane is going to increase the price on his mass market 7" figures too?
Anonymous
>>10032543 Depends on the line, a lot of them are already 25, I believe. I think Spawn is, among others. I say I think cause I'm not in the US. At this point I'm pretty sure any toyline can go anywhere, the store just has to want to buy it.
Anonymous
>>10032548 Spawn is a collector line and sold to direct market.
Same with Page Punchers (they're DCC figures, who is/was a direct market toy company, like Diamond Select, NECA, Mezco, etc).
Collector toys have always sold for ~$5 more than mass retail figures, though NECA and Diamond both increased their prices to match the increase of costs they've experienced over the years, even before corona and the dollar devaluing+recession. Only company who has increased prices on mass market toys is Hasbro, and they had been holding off for like 5-8 years, considering their 1:18 lines have increased while their 6" lines stayed at 19.99 since around 2013.
McFarlane Toys makes toys for both markets still, but they're blurring the line. since stores like Target and Walmart have a collector section hidden somewhere naer the electronics section. So lines like Fortnite, Call of Duty, Game of Thrones and others were already $24 since around $2019.
... but again, maybe I'm just ignorant about the signs of the time and the 7" Avatar figures aren't collector toys and the $24.99 price tag is the new normal for large action figures now.
Anonymous
>>10032490 What's that action figure on the left? It reminds me of a character me and my brothers made up when I was a kid who was an amputee with tank treads for his lower body.
Anonymous
>>10032564 McFarlane as a company blurs the lines, as their products are available everywhere. You'll find their figures you're referring to as "collector toys" at both retail and specialty stores, and their other 'regular figures' will also be in both. As the other anon said, at this point there isn't a massive gap between the two, you'll probably also find Marvel Legends at regular retail but also specialty stores at regular prices. McFarlane's pricing is probably just a per line thing, do they need to put more money into it and thus has to be more expensive. The Spawn figures, for example, generally have more articulation and are more plastic and paint apps in general than DC, so the price increase makes some sense there.
But ya, it isn't worth thinking of products or prices in this way anymore, just that all prices are going up and at this point a 1/18 figure at retail for $20 wouldn't be that surprising (bullshit like 5poa 4" figures are already at that price, for example, and Super7 can't say they are limited run items and thus more expensive because they're now the ones selling these products at retail), then specialty 1/18 figures are hitting 30+ already.
Anonymous
>>10033341 XMEn's Bonecrusher
>>10033352 >you'll probably also find Marvel Legends at regular retail but also specialty stores at regular prices It's been this way since the 90s. The difference is that stores like Bill's Amazing Comics orders from smaller distributors who don't give as big of a discount and the fact Bill doesn't order a hundred cases, hence MLs being MSRP at TRU and $5 more at Amazing Comics. SOME direct market places will charge MSRP, but most comic stores do not.
>"collector toys It's a buzzword that toys have used since forever, but there is a real distinction in the eyes of licenses. That distinction also comes with the fact it can't directly compete with the mass/children market too, hence Walmart/Targets hiding them away at the back of the electronic sections. So they're not just found in direct market stores like comic, electronic, book and other indie shops.
>McFarlane's pricing is probably just a per line thing, do they need to put more money into it and thus has to be more expensive Probably not, because a whole mess of companies are still trying to keep that $20 limit. It's a price limited by Walmart, which only Hasbro has broken, as their licenses are big enough to sell beyond that limit, which Hasbro may or may not have proven.
>The Spawn figures They're direct market. Just look at the placement in stores, which has to be there for legal reasons (civil law). Same as NECA, Mezco, DCC, Diamond, Hiya, Good Smile, etc etc etc.
buuut again, who knows how it's working with Avatar. Maybe it is considered a children's toyline and it's McFarlane's first over-$19.99 mass market toyline. McFarlane is also making a 2.5 and 1.5 lines for Avatar and maybe those are the mass market toylines, while the 7" line are collector toys.
Since McFarlane's contracts aren't publically announced like they are with Hasbro/Jazwares/etc, we'll find out whether they're mass market or collector figures when they're put on display at stores.

It is the worst possible situation, which we only discovered recently, this universe has no upper bounds (for anything, apparently, especially pain). The purely evil are indeed purely evil (and almost always racially demonic), and death is apparently an illusion. The general theme is growing/expanding pain. Repeat this line in your head or out loud while visualising it "My aura is altering all aspects of my being to emit Unlimited -% (negative percent) energies into the world, the nature of these energies is anti-pure evil. (Decide: Send to Hell=Yes or Send to Hell=No (I Advise)) (This Hacks The Energies)" You cannot trust your eyes in this pseudo-digital/digital world we live in, but it seems like we can fight the enemy, so we do. The Nephilim do (seem) factionalize and send other to hell at least on occasion, but I don't know how frequent it is. Neutrality/Survivalism is a realistic option for males. I do not know what our chances of winning are, but the faction thinks they do, you can ask if you want. Try emiting Unlimited positive % energies of a purely communicative and innoculous against evil nature (say it) in order to connect to the faction. There is a threat on Earth. Repeat this mantra "Empower me. I am becoming more powerful. The rate that I passively gain Bio-Electricity is improving." Imagine Bio-Electricity as a vitalizing force coursing through your body. This will make you immortal. We would also appreciate the following alternative wording(s) The nature of these energies is in/to support (of) the forces of Good on Earth in a general sense. The nature of these energies is to assist the forces of Good on Earth in the recruitment of key demographics. The nature of these energies is to twist time to favour our/my cause.
