A repaint Shredder with silver armor instead of the blue found on the vintage figure. This is apparently based on an extremely rare and obscure repaint that only appeared as some samples that were owned by Playmates employees.

To complete our duo from Wave 7, we've got Robo Rocksteady. It should be noted that Robo Rocksteady is considered a different character from Rocksteady and is not actually Rocksteady, in the same way that Metal Head is not one of the turtles in a robot outfit.

The ETA listed currently on BBTS is October. He also said that Wave 6 was planned to arrive quickly after Wave 5, and in listings claims to be a month after Wave 5 in order to catch up since wave 5 and 6 are late. If everything arrives in that time frame they will be caught up. The bigger issue is whether or not Brian manages to produce Wave 7 before Chinese New Year which always fucks him, because it's a 2 month period where the factories shut down for a month and then take a month to open back up. Wave 5 was originally supposed to be out for late Spring(May), with Wave 6 coming out right now, and Wave 7 around December or January(realistically we probably wont see 7 until May), since the plan was for figures to arrive roughly every 4 months.

The video also contains rare behind the scenes footage of Playmates designers from back in the 90's at work making the figure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaYPQQRyEsU In Dan's latest video he discusses the pre-order to buy your own Polluto based off of a scan of the original prototype.

now the sleeves, those might well be molded onto the arms. because rubber would not crease politely for the elbow bends. and neither rubber nor cloth will really play nice with shoulder rotation (though you can have pieces fit inside other pieces with rotatable circular clamps, but it's rarely done)

A review of the Playmates re-release of Mutagen Man. He doesn't even come with the backpack to attach his included tube accessory to, rendering it complete useless as an inclusion. They likely didn't include the backpack, gun, or trash pieces because those were all cast in yellow plastic, which would have required a separate tool and more money to cast in another color, but included the purple tube since they already had the purple body. On the positive, the other figures in the set are good and it looks like they remembered to paint the toes on the emblem for the foot soldier this time.

Crimson Commander !!uoqqXVkn8aK
>>9993489 I can confirm it's a decent show. Most people rejected it because of how different it was. Something can be good, but be different enough to become a "bridge too far" for a lot of people. The turtle designs were already radically different and it was a major change up to make Raph the leader, and Splinter's design was very different compared to previous interpretations. But that's burying the lead here, which is the controversy the show created over April O'Neil's race, because people have a very specific opinion on characters and doing a race swap on a major character is not going to go unnoticed. But what made it even bigger was all the websites doing bullshit stories and revisionist history trying to justify it(perhaps Nickelodeon paid to have articles written?) claiming that April was always intended to be black in the first place, which was untrue. They'd often show an out of context panel or two from her third appearance from when she got her new hairdo and claim that she was clearly black. Kevin Eastman commented on the matter in one of the collected editions of the comics saying that they initially drew her a bit ambiguous because they weren't sure if they wanted her to be white or asian. But Peter Laird has said that she was always intended to be white and is white in his opinion, and has inferred that Kevin Eastman is sort of a revisionist who talks out his ass and tells people what they want to hear(Peter's autistic about his creation and often acts like Kevin is betraying him). Also these websites would always say that April O'Neil was based on Eastman's former wife who the character was named after, which they always claim was a black woman or a half black woman, but when you google a picture of her she looks like a white woman. I think this controversy and the articles twisting facts helped poison the show for people.

>>9993488 I forgot to get to your Mike question-- it's a long story. I originally bought the re-issue Turtles while ordering a Storage Shell Michelangelo off of Facebook Marketplace with the idea that I fill out the other 3 Turtles with those re-issues, only for the guy to drag ass getting back to me, and when he did he said he had been on vacation, which was fine, but said that he accidentally had the Mikey figure listed on the Marketplace, but that he had already sold it previously to my even buying it. So, then he offered me a Storage Shell Leo that he had for sale(which he wanted more for than the Mikey), which I ended up purchasing since I needed one, but he then waited two days to confirm my payment with paypal and then sent me a tracking number, but never mailed it. I'm actually still waiting on him to mail it out. The guy's been dragging ass(almost 2 weeks now), because the Marketplace ad gives him until the 28th to mail it to me. In the time in between back when I thought I had a Michelangelo coming I also decided to pick up a Storage Shell Don, and then a guy offered me a Storage Shell Raph at a decent price. So, now I have 2 of the figures(the other two figures have arrived), while Leo is in limbo while I wait on this seller who keeps taking forever. I'm still scoping out for a Mikey, but will probably take a break on him since I'm likely buying a complete in box vehicle that I'm going to take pics of when it arrives, but it's gonna cost much.

This popped up in my social media feed for TMNT news.
The designer behind the awful Michael Bay TMNT Turtles designs is responding to fans not liking that he made the Turtles look like Shrek, after actor Devon Sawa(Final Destination, Idle Hands, Chucky tv series) criticized them on twitter. I wont post the article that directed me to it, because I don't want the author to get clicks, since it was a bunch of nonsense about how "toxic" fans should have just shut-up.
https://twitter.com/Monstermash042/status/1560042618129563648 The designer says:
>He was new and young and only cared about the fact that he worked for a big company >Claims he was a huge TMNT fan from childhood(doesn't show proof) and shows a photo of his workspace showing 3 posters of only his work on the TMNT franchise. >Says that he would do things differently today, and implies he'd make them look closer to the source material now that he knows fans hate his designs so much. >Then doubles down and says he wouldn't change them and thinks the TMNT should have the Shrek noses he gave them. >Blames fans for not liking and says they damaged his mental health and that he just can't even >Says his awful designs would have been Sonic'd away nowadays by the fans, in reference to how ugly Sonic was in the trailer to the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie, which was changed when fans didn't like it. Which ended up making the movie a success, as was it's sequel most likely due to the changes reflecting the source material better. He sounds like some guy who was up his own ass and thought he'd make his mark on things by changing the designs to something he wasn't even a fan of to begin with. And is still defending them. I still have trouble watching the movies, the designs are bad and there's a bit too many Michael Bay cliches in it like Casey Jones being a cop. The second movie is almost enjoyable, but it's so hard to look past the way the Turtles look. Why are they giant and why do they look like Shrek!?

>>9994461 Honestly as an artist I have so much sympathy for people working in movie industries like this. Concept artists are basically at the mercy of what producers and executives want. You were never going to have the image on the right because they were explicitly going to want something not like the 90s movie look. Look at someone like Josh Nizzi who did a bunch of Transformers desings; Prime 1 did a line of statues of G1 inspired movie designs he made. Yet he was also behind a lot of the bigger redesigns like Optimus' look in Age of extinction and he's proud of that too. As an artist you need to stand by your work no matter what; its a competitive field and no one will hire an artist who says they suck.
>>Then doubles down and says he wouldn't change them and thinks the TMNT should have the Shrek noses he gave them. I don't see this on the post, he said he would keep the nostrils mainly . And really though, the nostrils are hardly the most egregious part. More detailed TMNT designs have had nostrils since the 80s.

>>9994539 A third artist chiming in here. I think that wouldn't have gotten the point across. There have been plenty of glossy toys, but there haven't been too many with painted-on light sourcing. And that kind of innovation can be very interesting to people, which nets you sales, and as we can see, the TMNT line is doing very well, so I guess it's working.
I kinda hated it at first, but now I'm a fan. They just look so different from all the others toys on my shelf, and I appreciate that. And having come from the opposite opinion, I can totally understand people not liking it. It's ok, not everyone needs to like the same stuff.

I don't have a huge problem with most of the toon figures. I'd rather see only minor shading in areas that will almost always be shaded, such as under chins, noses, or heavy brows, if it was part of a character's signature look. which usually the TMNT cartoon didn't do, so

Crimson Commander !!uoqqXVkn8aK
>>9994515 >I don't see this on the post He kept mentioning his mental health(blaming the fans), and being "Sonic'd" away if he did them today, and then says how he'd still keep the nostrils which didn't look good. He doesn't point the finger anywhere else and says for example that producers made him design it that way. He says he'd still fight for the nostrils(a doubling down along with the blaming fans). It comes off like he's saying they're still good and that if you don't like them, it's a your problem. Even his earlier designs on it looked similar to the final ones and looking at his other design work on his website he just seems to have always made really generic Shrek looking characters that were overly designed and look like every other modern cliche Hollywood design.
http://www.jaredkrichevsky.com/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-2014 >>9994696 I saw them in store at one Walmart recently, but didn't get to look long or buy any, because some guy in a covid mask essentially shooed me away and then took up the entire space with his shopping cart after he saw me looking at them and the Neca figures on the shelf. He even did a cartoonish double take when he passed by and saw me looking at them, as he realized that I was looking at Turtles figures. I'll probably buy into the line. I'm hoping they announce an April. From what I briefly got to see in person they looked pretty good. They have a nice amount of accessories and were priced fairly. I just purchased this off of Ebay. I plan to open it and put it together. I'll take some pics of it when it arrives. I probably wont apply the stickers. I'd like to try and contact someone who makes repros to see if they could do anything with an unused sheet and get some duplicates made, so more people can complete their copy.

>>9995723 this is why you are the clit commander, dude. lookin out for others. Nobody thinks about that, but without good scans of the flat sticker sheet, it'd be impossible to recreate certain toys in the future even if you could individually mold or 3d scan and print each piece and assemble it..

>>9995726 I noticed there was a few people out there who make repro stickers for TMNT, but I don't want to contact them just yet until I got the set in hand and can confirm I got a fresh set in the box that's unapplied. My goal is to be able to get some repros made so other collectors can complete their vehicles. I notice when I see them on Ebay the stickers are always peeling and I'd feel less guilty if I attempted to get them duplicated.
Pic related is what a good sample of this vehicle will often look like loose.

>>9995735 Also who knows if the old stickers would even still work? adhesives can go funny over time. this is super smart.
Also this thing is kind of more badass than a van, it should have been their main ride. did the Street Sharks have a vehicle? Because those guys really needed a monster truck. Though in keeping with playmates' cost-efficiency, this appears to be more of a compact car with truck tires, rather than a big truck with tractor tires. Still!
Crimson Commander !!uoqqXVkn8aK

It's a tad more than a regular release, but Hasbro was putting out deluxe figures with big tripod-mounted cannons for $20. We all knew that Boba being $30 was just Hasbro jacking up the price on a popular figure because they knew they could get away with it, and we argued that removing the stormtrooper helmets (which nobody really wanted) and blast effects puts him on-par with the accessory. As it is, you're basically paying $18 more for a pair of useless helmets and some neat but not entirely necessary blast effects. CC thought this was actually fair.
