His parents were divorced and his mom was a right cunt who hated Halloween (she thought trick or treating was "disgusting" and that kids who did it were basically obnoxious beggars being taught to be rewarded for begging). She had custody at the time and decided to be "smart" and promised him Ghostbuster toys (which had just came out) if he agreed to stay home on Halloween and not go out trick or treating/not buying him a costume. He wanted the Kenner toys and she led him on to think he was going to get them but instead bought him a Playdough set because she was a cheapskate cunt and beat the living shit out of him when he complained that she lied to him. And then threw the Play Dough set in the trash for extra spite.
Luckily she beat him a little TOO hard and left him with enough marks from the beating that her parents used the incident to force her to give the kid up to them afterwards.
