Picked mine up. I wish he would glow a bit more, this was immediately after direct exposure to an LED blacklight. They used that wimpy powdery glow paint that doesn't seem to cover the entire figure, the same they used on the outside of the glow AVP Alien. But glow aside he looks great as just a standard mummy figure, I thought why pay out the ass for the color/b&w ultimate versions if I'm just going to spend more to buy the accessory set and stick him in the sarcophagus anyway. I won't miss having the extra acessories.

NTA, but most people find it tough to go from bright sunlight to complete darkness, not only do you need a room set up with blackout curtains or something, but you also need the right time of day to catch the sunlight from your window. Or if you don't have a window at all, that's even worse, cause then you need to expose it to sunlight then run back inside, losing precious glow every second. It's not really gonna work for most folks.

This is terrible coverage, he's so patchy and uneven. Why even sell it as a glow figure if you're gonna do it this poorly? I would highly recommend picking up some GITD paint (which should blend in with a mummy's colors pretty well) and even him up.

It looks like September 2nd and September 9th are when the NECA drops are for the Fall Geek Out. We know Tokka & Rahzar (toon) and Usagi Yojimbo are part of this, so I presume they'll be those drops. Maybe some surprises too, who knows.

Went ahead and took another pic in complete darkness using the same method as the first photo since there was some debate, a few of the lighter painted sections pick up more to the eye in the dark but it's still lacking in most of the same areas when exposed to UV. This isn't a big issue for me, I have a tube of glow acrylic from fixing up my glow alien and I can get him up to shape, but I'm going to see him more often in natural light anyway and the glow was never the selling factor for me anyway. I grabbed him over the other two mummies because of the lower price point. NECA glow figures turn out great when they embed the glow into the plastic like the Big Chap Walmart fig or Haulathon Muck Man, but they're always a bit spotty when they go for painting over the figure like AVP Alien, the glow egg set, etc. The manufacturing process to spray these figures with the glow paint means that some turn out absolutely perfect and some wind up lacking. So I knew this could be an issue going into buying the figure and it wasn't anything that affected my purchase, I still like the figure for what it is and I'll be happy to put it with my other monsters.

i hope those wings are hinged like in the show, they had a very elegant design. plus it'd be nice if at least someone in this line could close his wings. like yeah we're getting the capes, but what I want is the nice simple 'bat signal' pose. thumbs up, fingertips down. or at least a natural-looking flight pose.. it's very odd what we got, it doesn't really work as anything except an intimidation pose.

It's a very nice sculpt, but he looks too skinny, I think his build is wrong. He is quite broad shouldered and barrel-chested in the show, traditional superhero portions. This lanky take is neat looking I guess, but it doesn't look right to me.

Could it be a defective figure? I would contact NECA if I were you. Some parts, like the feet and shoulders especially, look as though someone was wiping it down with alcohol or some other paint stripper to try to wear away the glow. You can see how the glow is recessed in all the cracks but bare on the raised surfaces. There are only a few ways that can happen: a wash, a paint wipe, or an incomplete paint strip. I doubt NECA would be looking to use a wash or paint wipe, since those techniques would not produce the desired effect on this figure, so...it looks like a mistake to me honestly, and I would ask for a replacement or my money back.

It's not defective, the guy isn't using enough UV to get it glowing. He's probably using some cheapy uv light/black lighting and that isn't charging it enough.

Because a lot of things have changed behind the scenes with Predator since it was shown. And frankly I'm glad it's taken so long cause they can do some really great stuff now like the face printing they're doing on current re-releases of predators, AND hopefully the new hips.

The Killer Klowns twitter campaign has succeeded and an ultimate line will be announced by end of year. Say what you want about randulf but he follows trends and doesn’t mind being called a flip-flopper when he changes his mind on an IP like this that he once deemed “too niche” to make figures of.

I only recently starter buying TTs but they're pretty neat, I hope eventually we can get stuff like the Cryptkeeper, Tarman or Duane and Belila from Basketcase.

HOWEVER, during Power Con they were asked about Casey and Shredder, they're looking into a way to get them back out (plus they've already updated the Shredder body with the new hips, so it needs to happen for the regular toon version).

Because it got uneven lighting. You can do that with glow in the dark figures you know. And the Mummy is glowing as well as the other NECA figures. All that texture is going to "dull" the glow.

The NECA figures, including the Mummy, are glowing the same. The smooth, little to no texture figures like the Mattel figures glow brighter cause they're not competing with textured sculpts and paint on the figure.

I did a lot of looking into this because I was worried myself about my display being so close to my bed, but it turns out most consumer-level UV lights do not put out enough uv radiation to be hazardous to your health (unless you look directly into them). It's equivalent to like, going outside for so-and-so amount of time. However, I did also read that regular and long-term exposure to UV light can prematurely age your skin and hair and stuff visually, so be wary of that.

I think the chances have gone up, though I think it'll depend on how well the game does.
I also think the game could revive the sequels development too, the original writers/creators of Killer Klowns have been working on it for awhile but when Disney bought Fox they stopped the production, but if the game does well maybe disney will get dollar signs in their eyes and greenlight development again.
And if a movie comes out I think for sure NECA will make stuff for it.

Im still amazed we got Puppet Master figures. I don't know a single soul who's seen those movies, and most of them are piping hot dogshit too. The packaging on the two-packs is also S tier as an added bonus.

I saw that BBTS had them up for sale again and the production company that holds the rights was releasing quite bad looking 1:1 recreations of the puppets soon. Im still half hoping we'll get Six Shooter and Leech woman one day.

And my Target put out the Fall Geek Out stuff, or at least the first wave of it. Picked up Bride April and Hunchback Leo. Really, really impressed with the sculpting on both. Leo's just so damn big and chunky to handle. He's way more fun to mess with than I was expecting.

Other than that, cool pic, cool setup. The only other piece of advice I have to give is to learn to light the figures to match their background better. Right now they don't match up too well (same for your TMNT pic), which takes you out of the picture a bit. Once you learn to control that lighting, you'll really have something golden. Imagine this scene, but you lit Demona and the officer from below with yellowy warm light to look like the glow of the city.

It looks nicely made, but the super cut, roided up arms and legs don't look right on him. He's strong, but like, big and kind of doughy strong. The way his gut pinches way in for the belt is also weird looking, I would have liked a bigger belly and wider waist all around to bulk him out.

I don't like that he doesn't have a happy face either, just this sort of sinister grinning one. And his roaring face looks nothing like him at all. Even when he was pissed, you usually only saw his fangs. This changes the whole look of his mouth. I dunno, maybe I'm just nitpicking, but he's one of my favorites, and I'm almost completely disappointed in the look of this toy.

Gargoyles holds up extremely well until the third season, when Disney fucked it all up and fired Greg. Sometimes I mourn what the show could have been, it was SO GOOD and they had such ambitious plans. It's right up there with the likes of BTAS when it comes to "90s cartoons that are actually as good as you remember them."

Did you ever read the canon comics that came out in the 2000s? Greg was on those and they pick up right where season 2 ends. Sadly it ALSO got canceled but it was a good run for the time. Hoping we get some of the gargoyles from that run.

I own the Mafex Robcop 2, the NECA Robocop 3, the Hiya Toys 3 3/4 inch battle damaged Robo, the original Hot Toys die cast Robo (standard release), and I picked up the NECA Robocop Ultimate release today at Target; the Mafex is the second best out of the ones I just listed, after the Hot Toys. I only grabbed the NECA Ultimate for the Peter Weller head, but given that I have the Mafex "Weller" Robo on pre-order now, I'll probably retire it or sell it once the Mafex one arrives.

Huh you're right, that is weird. What I think is real weird and seems to be an issue with the whole line, is how sharp and perfect some paint is and how janky the rest is. The eyes/eyebrows are perfect, but the hair is a mess.

So I've had some time to open up Ultimate Robocop and dig into him. I'll start by saying that the new finish is nice, giving the figure a beautiful appearance under various lighting conditions. Using an old buck, he still can't achieve some of Robo's most iconic movie poses, of course, and that's a major disappointment for me.

But Jesus Christ, the fucking neck on that "Weller" headsculpt: it's exceptionally long and it's tapered. Now this was likely done in order to give the neck a bit more range, but it's a fucking eye sore. I did a bit of a mod on the neck, and attached is a glimpse of the "before" and "after."

There were some other issues, among them the fact that the figure was assembled while the paint was still wet (I've seen this with the TMNT line a few times--here's looking at you, Android body Krang).
