>>22492>>22492/mu/ isn't ironic, they're hipster contrarians.
I remember a pop-punk thread that had like 200 posts and some samefag suddenly flooded the thread calling everybody's recommendations shit. It didn't work, people told him to fuck off. But if he showed up earlier in that thread, he could of derailed it completely before any discussion got started. It was rather autistic, for some reason one dude didn't want discussion of a certain genre of music on /mu/. It doesn't really make sense, just hide the thread or something. Very much a "STOP LIKING WHAT I DONT LIKE" mentality over on /mu/.
/tv/ is full of bitter contrarians. half of it is ironic, half of it isn't. For some reason, they all seem upset about certain things being popular. It's more petty then it is autistic. People were having meltdowns when Deadpool was getting good reviews. Star Wars VII was also another movie that almost broke /tv/ when it was getting great reviews and shattering records.
The hypocritical nature of /tv/ is also funny, most notably how they resent Marvel movies for being quippy and lighthearted instead of serious and realistic, but then turn around and bash Daniel Craig's James Bond for being dark and serious instead of being lighthearted romps like the Moore and Brosnan era (forgetting that early Connery and Dalton were also rather dark as well).
also the /pol/ crossposting on /tv/ is very hurtful to the quality of discussion.
both have shit taste, but in a different way.
