Gorgeous cinematography aside, the Villian had a great screen presence and pacing was almost elegant.
It had just the right amount of action, and that climax was great. Bond doesn't go to the villian's layer, the Villian go after him to Bond's "layer".
Even the tiny amount of backstory they give bond was very tastefully excuted. It was substantial enough to be interesting but not informative enough to ruin the mystery around the character.
Craig's smug persona was pretty funny as well.
