A Remington 1871 Rolling-Block pistol. The rolling-block action is a single-shot breech-loading cartridge action which is ridiculously simplistic, and ridiculously robust, much like a falling-block action (which is similar in its simplicity and strength, but works differently).
Speaking of which, with Remington's recent financial hardship (brought on by bad product decisions and horrendous quality control), they've now sold off a bunch of the assets they've acquired over the years, among these were Marlin, Bushmaster, Harrington & Richardson, and Tapco. Sturm Ruger ended up buying Marlin, which in my opinion is the best thing that could have happened, as they have exponentially better quality control and can probably turn that brand around from the sorry "Remlin" state it was in. Forgot who got Bushmaster, but it matters quite little, as it's just the brand name, all the actual talent which made up Bushmaster before Remington bought them and shut down their plant to open a new one elsewhere, instead went on to start Windham Weaponry, which by all accounts are making excellent AR15 rifles.
