What may be supposed to be the later 5.45x39mm counterpart, the PM md. 94, sometimes referred to as a "Short" AIMR-74. This was actually not a Romanian military carbine, but a semi-automatic gun made for the European commercial market.
Romanian rifles typically did not feature the dimple for the magwell, but apparently they would have for this caliber and this time period, the turned up charging handle is an interesting detail, brings to mind the one on the Israeli Galil rifles. I have no idea if the charging handle is authentic, I have never seen this on any other AK before.
What is authentic is however the folding stock, typical for later Romanian guns, and Romania did not pursue bakelite magazines, instead making them in stamped steel, like 7.62x39mm AKM magazines.
