People that meta-meme, force memes or "ironically" meme are pure cancer. That includes the newfags flooding /pol/ with that 8gag "meme magic" bullshit, plus super-memes that normies blow up and obsess over.
My rule of thumb is to a) never acknowledge a meme is a meme and b) never use a meme once it either outstays it's welcome (ranging from 1 month to a year), or reaches normiedom.
Same goes for vernacular. "Kek" is cancer at this point, especially with it's connection to the reddit frog god meme of /pol/
