Reddit spacing has always been a thing.

We finally just gave it a name.

It's very easy to tell how long someone has been on 4chan by how they structure their posts, the diction they use in them, and the presence of any emoticons.

I think it's more of a response to phone posting faggots that can't handle six sentences in a row. I've been getting told more and more lately that if I have two lines of text on my screen I'm being too verbose because my 55 inch TV will out perform your 5 inch iPhone when it comes to readability. The reddit boogieman is just that, and the irony is that if they know that much about how things are done on reddit they're probably less of a purist than most of us that don't give a fuck.

Frankly, I find not using proper punctuation far worse than spacing out your posts every sentence. I hate having to decide on whether the person I want to respond is just some idiot or someone trying to act smug or cool by typing in all lowercase, spacing every sentence, and not using periods.

Also, "reddit spacing" isn't easier to read. A line break makes it so you internally read it as a longer stop than a period. That implies the previous "paragraph" has nothing or not a lot to do with the current paragraph. So you'll read one sentence, and by the next one you've already released the previous sentence, meaning you've lost all structure of what the person was trying to say.
It comes across as insane ramblings.

And fucking learn what ellipsis mean. And what an em/en-dash actually is.
