you can use a single dot for an unknown character (red.pill) or use [- ] to say it might be one of these two. If there's a slash meant to be in your pattern use \/ instead of /, as it is with an unescaped / it would probably fail because of trailing characters

There's nothing wrong with using machine learning to train a filter for superior 4chan browsing. The downside is the amount of training you have to invest, a result that is heavily tailored for you, and an unreadable set of filter criteria when boiled down to Javascript.

It takes time to read, dismiss and scroll through every single post that's not of interest.
This is fine for most users of 4chan (and in fact you should keep your filters to a minimum), but others use this site in a somewhat time-constricted manner (e.g. during lunch break), who are grateful to filter out reoccurring threads and/or posters which are just wasting their time.

It takes all of 5 seconds to filter something. I've been using a filter since before it was integrated with 4chan X. I posted in the original pony threads on /co/, back when they used to get spammed with gore and scat porn, or just spammed with old comic dumps or wiki text. Fortunately the spammers used the same images and naming conventions so it was easy to automatically filter them. And since then I just got used to using a filter to remove garbage and spam from my 4chan experience. Why should I have to put up with that shit?
