Why do most boards have inherently shit taste?

/mu/ likes weird indie music, /v/ likes old/obscure games, /tv/ likes lesser known movies, and /fa/ likes tacky clothes.

This stopped being true years ago. /tv/ is pleb central. Newfags come to /tv/ to express whatever dumbass opinions they are to afraid to share on Reddit.

As to the other boards, obscurity is what makes them interesting. If I wanted to talk about mainstream shit, I'd just go outside and talk to any random normie.
