why are so many people who make fangames troons?
or maybe it's just the essentials games, I tend to see lower quality content and more mental illness in essentials games compared to romhackCHADS. could it be because creating a romhack requires more talent?

I like how Pokemon Throwback (improvement hack of FireRed) handles this. Trademons still evolve via trading, but you can use Bill's teleporter to simulate trading with yourself and evolve them that way. Pretty neat.

My personal favorite is how seemingly NOBODY can get Kingler right
One of three options

Just fucking implement the split and give him megahorn, holy fuck. It's two simple fixes, you don't even need to touch his stats. Fuck, if you're feeling ambitious, give him Rock Slide as well, that's a fucking pokemon that's fair

That is pathetic. You don't need to metagame in a singleplayer game against retarded AI when they're barely stronger than you.
I've played a number of difficulty hacks and only a few of them were minmax metagaming throughout, while the easier ones had their moments of bullshit. Even then, at those points there was usually a pokemon nearby available for capture that could've been used to nullify it.
