The complaint is that it’s styled after greco-roman ruins rather than being Japanese. Problem is the ancient Japanese didn’t build much out of stone so there’s basically no Parthenon-style ruins in Japan. They’ve always built things out of wood, which means structures that aren’t maintained rarely last more than a few decades

Hoenn literally had santorini u mongrel. Hearthome city is europe based. A little bit of world mixing was present everywhere before gen 5. Then they went full autistic with the whole mimicking real world.

Im ean they were there in the gen 4 games, i always asumed at some point the region recieve some western influences looking at those churches, since there people from Kalos and Galar.

Not that anon, but one of the first port cities in Japan following Perry forcing open the country has major European influences and architecture as they came to facilitate contact between Japan and Europe/America. Given what we know about Sinnoh now that more technologically advanced settlers from Galar came to a Sinnoh very much caught in the medieval era still, it’s absolutely reasonable that some of the larger cities have an abundance of European influence.

Honestly if know how to situate the map properly using Jubilife Village and Snowpoint Temple as orientation points, the location of the map containing these ruins would not be an accessible location on the OG D/P/Pt map. Kinda curious.

It was placed 1000 years before present Sinnoh.
Arceus' Jewel of Life orb is green-colored, most likely a jade.
Hisui means Jade in Japanese.

The Pokémon world does not have a common language. In XY, a Kantonian woman had to have a translator around to help the player understand her because she spoke Japanese while everyone else was speaking French. Looker also speaks in a strange manner while in the Japanese-inspired regions to show that he's not a native speaker.
