Definitely a mixed bag at best. There is a certain comfort in knowing you don't have to try hard to impress her, and that she has as many flaws as you, maybe even more. She's "on your level" so to speak. But more often than not they have bad mental problems due to shitty parents, especially their moms. BPD, bipolar disorder, depression etc. Which isn't insurmountable, but will take a lot of work to manage if they aren't already working on it. Not saying you should avoid these girls altogether, but just know there's a ton of work and bullshit to deal with from them in order to make the relationship work.
