Generally, I prefer the girls from SV over the ones from SwSh. Though there’s good ones for both.
SwSh definitely wins in terms of random trainer NPCs though (with the exception of the grunts - Marco Cosmos and team yell grunts are probably the worst grunts in the series).

People sleep on Mela and Eri a ton, in my personal opinion they’re both pretty great.
The real issue with SV is that outside of Iono the other gym leaders are more forgettable (you can try to claim Katy but it’s a stretch). Most other gens at least have 2 gym leader girls to fawn over. But it sorta matters less too? Because gen 9 inherently de-emphasized the gyms as the centre of the game anyways? There’s a lot of good girls in the game, they’re just a bit more spread out I guess

For example Cynthia for example has a nice looking design but she is not some giant-titty mommy gooner bait everyone portrays her to be. In fact almost all the poke-girls don't actually have any assets at all. Misty was kinda skimpy at the time I guess but she wasn't any worse than someone like Bruno, for example.

The actual reason is that most pokemon fans who actually played and the games and watched the anime are boys who went through puberty when this was ongoing, and so their sexual awakenings were happening while watching these characters on screen. And an association formed. You see this with other franchises whose audience had been going through puberty when it was popular. Why do you think that ugly family guy and Simpsons porn is so popular for no reason? It's because the makers were 13 years old staying up past 9 a.m. to watch it. I am not afraid to say that May was my first fap. It's really that simple.
