It's cool and all but its not like the original gets any respect out of it. Meanwhile a good mega elevates a Pokémon to royalty, literally in Chesnaught's case. It's clear that Game Freak had a mandate from somewhere that Chesnaught had to be good so they had the one competence person there design it. Meanwhile Feraligatr's was made purely out of obligation so they just pawned it of on some random intern not caring if it looked good.
