I completed all the sets easily but once they introduced trading it became the only way to complete sets. I even had 2 accounts which helped when it got harder but it wasn't enough.
The reason I stopped playing, and I suspect the same is true for many other, is that it just stopped being fun. The medal events were fun for a casual game, ranked is only fun for a small number of players and very time consuming. I think most people realize they could do literally anything else and have more fun. The game just became a drag because of the bad pulls and ranked.
