Is it possible for Ash & Serena's dynamic to be more like Lan and Maylu if they reappeared for Pokemon Legends Z-A arc instead of still copying Naruhina? If they gonna include romantic plot into a KIDS ANIME than they should use romantic plot from a Kids Anime as reference instead of copy pasting Naruto which is infamous for its poor female characters & romance. Kishimoto knows only one romance plot where girl fall for guy & simps over him for rest of her life even if he turns out to be the biggest asshole in the world.

I think JN Serena's personality is already similar to Maylu but her chemistry with Ash needs to change. Maybe since she already kissed Ash and confessed to him, the new Serena will no longer hide her affection and openly flirts with him while Ash stops treats her like a princess and treats her the same way he treated Misty and Dawn. For example : Ash gets annoyed whenever Serena hugs him not because he is self conscious but because he finds it embarrassing & thinks he will get cooties from Serena.

Why ? Why the heck XY tried to copy Naruhina with Amourshipping? Who the heck told them use freaking Naruto as guideline to write romance & female characters for a kids anime like Pokemon? Even Hardcore Narutofags knows that Kishimoto sucks at writing romance and female characters. If they wanted to include romance in a kids anime than why didn't they used actual kids anime with romance as guideline to write Amourshipping! What did they thought? That they gonna ignore the characters age and treat them like adults! No wonder XY and XY&Z series got mogged by Youkai Watch.

Lan and Maylu set better example for Amourshipping, if only the anime could do that now to fix XY and XY&Z's mistake.
