I'll occasionally calc IVs too. Really low IVs ill look for another. I won't usually ev train unless it's kanto/hoenn cuz I know off the top of my head the ev yeild of the pokemon in those regions. Never any actual ev spreads either. Just a good 50-100 evs in a few stats.
I guess I play kinda weird, but like to actually spend time training my pokemon like I would if it were me irl. The four pokemon limit is to force me to use some strategy beyond minmax my party and load them up with coverage moves.
