>>39970340I think better integrating the world and the battles is key. Like say if a trainer spots you they challenge you to singles/doubles/triples/rotation/whatever. But if you talk to them from the sides or behind and challenge them, a menu pops up and you get to decide the battle type.
I think a Seventh Saga style radar system would also be a great way to handle random encounters. That game isnt great but the way the radar works with random encounters is wonderful.
I think this would help the overworld navigation feel more like part of the ‘game’ and not just sidefluff.
A hard mode for adults would also be really really nice even if we arent the target audience.

It doesn't make sense to me how these people can actively post on a forum dedicated to a topic where they actively dislike its output for over a decade.That’s fair. There’s just gonna be THAT type of nerd with any large IP, some people just want something to be miserable and complain about. I dont get it and I dont need to. Pic related. Some can definitely get too obsessive about this stuff, but I think if it’s just a hobby or whatever then it’s fine.
