>>21661666isn't evolution supposed to be helpful to all though? if carbink underwent that kind of evolution then there'd be more diancie to preserve the peace and whatnot. i remember reading somehwere that carbink follow her around, so it seems like it would've been some sort of evolutionary advantage if they could breed. so far diancie seems to be like those blond pacific islanders who gained their hair separately from europeans, except that with diancie they have to be under extreme pressure to get these desirable traits. given the fact that carbink arose from deep underground, i'd say that they are born underground, and the "mutation" for a diancie happens during formation. the deeper they come from, the better the chance for a diancie to form because of the increased pressure. you should remember that carbink can't breed and given their fairy typing it's not too far-fetched to think that they are born like this.
can we also discuss the mega evolution from the movie? the games say that they're connected to the legendaries or something, but diancie made her mega stone before meeting xerneas. it could be possible though that there is a process to making a mega stone. first, the pokemon must already share a strong bond with their trainer, in the games lucario evolves with happiness, meaning it already succeeded in that, and diancie made her diamond in the movie when she was overjoyed at having friends. next, they have to have a tangible object to connect with, and stones/gems are the purest form of a mineral, allowing them to "keep" the happiness of the pokemon and their trainer, which is maybe why hoenn legendaries are important as they have their orbs. lastly, a mega stone must be infused with an aura ability, fairy aura or dark aura. this explains why they're predominantly found in kalos and why the movie diancie mega evolved after meeting xerneas. her diamond was infused with happiness and an aura. cont below
