SWSH went a step further and just shamelessly added raids. Big Pokemon you have to team up to defeat? Literally fucking GO. They didn't do the gameplay any favors either since it's just as restrictive and overbearing as the Alola games were.
It's a fucking travesty. Sure, LGPE has a different style of catching that's remniscent of GO. But you know if they really wanted to push that then they would have just used the Switch's touch screen like a tablet does in GO, right? The rest of the gameplay in LGPE that's "butchered" is more or less just how things were in Yellow. The lack of breeding, held items, abilities, EVs, all because of KANTOOOO, and the candy system is proof since it functions identically like stat EXP albeit more tangible.
They made LGPE because some kids don't have phones, and main-series idiots will buy it anyway to get Meltan for Bank/Home. Most GO-normies ended up just doing the one-time connection to their friends with Switches to get Meltan, and the game lets them do that with as many people possible with no limit.
