>>58369681>>58370372Yeah, I never liked how Serene Village and (almost) its entire cast are ditched in the second half of the game. There's even a painful bait-and-switch when you return to the village, only to get immediately called away to a dungeon before you can walk around or talk to any villagers. Random connection here, but it reminds me of Ace Combat 7, which also had a problem with the plot changing direction and characters being forgotten about.
On the topic of Super, I might as well stop procrastinating and share another update on my replay.
>>58331004I got through the Voidlands recently. Pretty crazy part of the game. Cool aesthetics and music, but it's also pretty messed up. I mean, it's bad enough that you get petrified, but then your soul gets trapped in a terrifying hell dimension where you're chased by monsters that impersonate your loved ones and consume you? Dark Matter, you scary.
All the talk about hope in this part felt like a forced attempt at including a central theme in the plot. Gates did it better.
The lore that Dark Matter becomes active because of the alignment of celestial bodies feels unnecessary, considering it also becomes active when Pokemon feel too many negative emotions. One of those would be fine, but having both feels odd.
It was funny how the game temporarily gives you an army of teammates for a couple dungeons, and it was cool to fight alongside the Legendary Beasts... but I still don't get why they acted so mean and claimed they’d sacrifice the hero and partner. In reality, they were planning to sacrifice themselves and save the hero/partner, so how do they benefit from making the duo hate and distrust them? No point in lying and antagonizing them like that. It was just a cheap way to add some drama, I guess.
At least Entrusted Hope is an awesome song (and suspiciously similar to PWT Finals from BW2, which is also an awesome song).
