Here is an interesting bit on Garchomp, this is the Pokédex entry from Ultra Sun, “It flies at the speed of sound while searching for prey, and it has midair battles with Salamence as the two compete for food.” It’s hard for me to imagine what garchomp flying actually looks like, but apparently he is faster than fighter jets according to the Pokédex. I feel like game freak were overly cautious regarding the stats of Mega Garchomp as he was extremely overpowered when first implemented in gen 4, being the first non-legendary to be made Uber, and they didn’t want a repeat situation. Speed is such a large part of Garchomp’s character, yet the Mega is painfully slow stat wise and doesn’t even look fast, just clumsy. They really butchered the design and implementation all together, let’s just hope there is a “Mega-Garchomp X” somewhere down the pipeline.
