For the longest time, I used to think that Masquerain was an encounter in the Giant Chasm during BW2's story. I distinctly remember it showing up in the double grass and I remember having one in my PC back when I was desperately trying to experiment with Fly HM candidates that also had pretty good move coverage.
It wasn't until years later when I decided to do a mono Bug run when I realized that it not only wasn't an encounter in that specific area but the only place you could catch one was in Route 11 as a swarm in the post-game.
