However, I struggle to think of any Pokemon that has some degree of natural pliability in appearance that could allow for something like different skin/scale color.
I have seen Pokemon transformation art where the recently-transformed human retains some semblance of their former body's hairstyle (pic related). I don't think that's what you were thinking about, however.
