Just felt a little bad that I couldn't beat the game without using items in battle like I intended and at the champion I had to use a revive on Sceptile and a few potions otherwise I would lose for the 3rd time against him and I was too mentally exhausted for that.
I wasn't prepared for all those water types and thought Sceptile would take care of any but turns out every fucking water type can learn ice beam and if you don't one-shot them with leaf blade, they one-shot you.

I have a rule that when I'm playing a pokemon game from a generation I've never played before, I'll try to use only pokemon from that gen, by the time I realized Skarmory is actually gen II, I had trained him a lot and taught him TMs so I just kept him around for FLY.
