>>55944867It's kinda weird. Gen 5's biggest filter HAS to be the intro. Whether it's a Pokemon pool more limited than fuckin' Gen 1, or the mandatory Pokestar, these issues almost immediately clear up on the way to the second gym and the game becomes way more enjoyable.

Also, they always get underutilized in singleplayer. Only exception is Gen 3. Even in ORAS, I feel like inverse battles were kinda wasted.
