I definitely agree with sunflower for him. They're also a summer/autumn flower so it fits the autumn uniform for him. The tiles in the dorm room kitchen also have sunflowers on them and all of his room being yellow just makes it perfect, haha.
I'd also pick yellow roses for him because they can mean either friendship or jealousy, which both feel very fitting for him. They're also one of my favorites too.
