I've got this theory, and honestly, I didn't want to say anything, but they keep making it more obvious. Perhaps you gentlemen would like to discuss? I thought so. So bottom line, the already announced launch window-ish Pokémon game for the NX will be a port of Sun and Moon. So, lots of speculation and various levels of rumor, but like I said, I merely propose conclusions drawn from observations. First observation, Nintendo and the Pokémon company have not been shy about saying that the NX will feature radically "new" additions to their biggest franchises within the launch window including Pokémon, and sun and moon certainly fit that bill. Second Observation, they have been shy about everything else. We don't even know the damn things real name, although the specs and probable hybrid nature of the console was revealed, and hinted at back when Nintendo merged their console and handheld divisions. Possible conclusion; they don't have shit for Christmas this year. They'll sell a ton of Pokémon and mini-nes' and that's about it. If one of the megaton launch window titles is the port, this beautiful new Pokémon experience that you can experience on the new hybrid, they can't properly announce the NX without it and they can't do that before Christmas without tanking sales. Third Observation, the things that they've chosen to talk about, how they're showcasing the game are kind of odd. They've got cutscene after cutscene with blocky textures that could obviously be made absolutely breathtaking on better hardware. That whole interview about how they really put a lot of effort into the lighting? Seems suspicious. Finally today they dropped the ridiculous file size on us and now I'm entirely convinced that what we will be playing in November will be a lower resolution version of the first NX Pokémon experience. Any evidence to support or poke holes in the theory are of course welcome, as a part of me wants to be wrong.
