I honestly like the Pokemon designs and most of the music here. Most of my favorites are in, too. Problem is the game is full of bad technical decisions that are supposedly going to stay with the series now. I don’t want yet another new gimmick every generation, I don’t want to worry about my favorites getting axed the next generation, and I don’t want more cutscenes like they had in SM. In a perfect world I could enjoy the game for what it is, provide feedback, and that feedback would be considered to improve Gen 9 and this would all just be a series low point.
What this leak season has shown, though, is that feedback is not only disregarded but seemingly used as a basis of what they actively avoid fixing. As long as even a small group of people praise the company for making a game that loses its worth after the credits roll, they will continue to not listen to criticism.
I don’t want to buy it because that’s the only way to even remotely submit my feedback, but even then I know my removal of 60 USD to their pool doesn’t mean shit. I think that helplessness of providing criticism is the part that hurts the most.
But whatever, I’m not in college anymore and don’t have a dedicated group to play with anymore anyway. Plus VGC has been shit for years. I still want improvement and will play the shit of the games if they do improve, but I guess it’s just time to stop caring about it.
