Most of the fucking idiot kids nowadays think genesect is far superior anyway, so just keep giving the 100 new legendaries per gen new forms.
Also, mewtwo was a badass in the first movie and actually has a relatively in depth story in the games/anime/movie. Now 15 years later we're supposed to believe he learned how to change forms all of a sudden?
If you didn't like how original mewtwo looks, that's fine, but to say this one is better leads me to believe that it truly is never too late to abort
